How is weed less harmful than tobacco?
1. You don't get high if you smoke a cig.
2. weed is a lot more likely to cause cancer and other lung issues.

You apparently never smoked weed because the High you get off of Marijuana is not as bad as being drunk from Alcohol.

But you are right about #2, a Marijuana joint has about 4X the amount of Tar as a Cigarette but most people do smoke do not smoke weed like they smoke cigarettes.

The Fact that Marijuana is illegal and Alcohol is legal is stupid. The Longer it is illegal means more bad people will capitalize on it being illegal, Make it Legal and you take away alot of money from Drug Cartels.

Do you know how much 5 JOINTS daily would be? Yes if you drastically over use anything it would be bad for you. One can die from drinking too much water, I guess we should make that illegal too.

The thing about marijuana is that its tough to tell if someone is on it sometimes. Like if I work at a job where we deal with heavy machinery...if someone came into work drunk you will almost notice immediately, but if someone came in high on weed, it might go unnoticed and their stoned @$$ might end up getting someone killed.

Before I joined the Army I smoked weed about 2-3 times a day, i quit Cold Turkey and didnt have a problem for 4 years. I also smoked Cigarettes And I am still addicted ( Grizzly Dip)

Marijuana is a mental addiction. Tobacco, Alcohol, Heroin, Cocaine, are physical addictions.

I haven't ever smoked weed before. I know people that have though. They started doing coke and other harder drugs, and they were addicted to weed too. Said that they could quit smoking any time and failed to do so.

What makes you think that drug cartels won't push dope even more if it is legal?

The problem is that it's illegal. Whether the states are "enlightened" or not the law is what it is. Until it changes you have to respect the law, it's just the way our country is run.

I don't view weed as bad and I believe cigarettes are much worse. They are both pointless habits in my mind which eat up disposable income.

Bottom line: he's a role model for millions of young people. He isn't some average joe posting on a sports message board. He could have done something much worse, but it just doesn't look good.

The tax money the government would make from it. Plus legality would mean a greater supply, meaning prices go down, meaning cartels have less incentive to peddle it as it wouldn't be profitable anymore.

Someone could go into work tired and end up getting someone killed.

Someone could go into work on over-the-counter medicine, or prescription drugs, and get someone else killed.

That Gateway BS is just that. It is typical American thinking, Blame someone else for your problem. By saying Marijuana is a gateway drug releases the person for being held responsible by his friends or family for doing Coke or heroin. It is a personal responsibilty issue, If you Honestly believe that Smoking weed makes someone want to do coke, then you have fallen prey to the hype.

Marijuana does not make someone want to do coke, That person wanting to get a "new"buzz or high is the gateway. If weed is a gateway drug, then you might as well call extreme sports a gateway drug too.
