But what makes you think that if crack, heroine and coke were more availible that the availibility wouldn't cause more people to use it?

Well it really comes down to the Parents. Did they do a good job of telling them the dangers of those drugs? Alot of parents tell put Weed on the Same level as Crack or heroin so when they smoke weed and realize it is harmless, what are they going to think about Crack?

Thank god my parents were truthful with me about pot.

I never used harder drugs than weed personally, but I can say that 90% of my pot buddies back in the day did use harder drugs.

On my end, not many. Maybe a couple. Percentage wise, probably less than 10%.

That is exactly what i am getting at! Except today the Ads are more Subtle but they are still lies! Tell me, Why would the Government want to outlaw a drug that has far fewer side effects of the Synthetically made drugs in laboratories but does a better job than those?

Why would they make a Plant illegal when it has 1001 uses? I bet you did not know that along with the Pharmaceutical companies lobbying to make Pot Illegal, Dupont also did? Apparently Hemp is a very good product, Hemp would have put Dupont out of business...

I'll never argue that most people start off with weed as their first drug.

First illegal drug. Well, actually, alcohol and tobacco are also illegal if you're under the minimum age requirements so even saying that marijuana is the first illegal drug most people try would probably be wrong in most cases.

The last figures from 2001 have 22.4% of people smoking marijuana, while 25.7 using any drug. That leaves roughly 3.3% of people using drugs outside of marijuana.

So according to the United States government, 6.7% of marijuana users use other drugs.

I just personally think that abusing any substance to get intoxicated or to get a high is wrong. Alcohol included. And I will be the first to admit I am GUILTY as hell of doing this A LOT, but I still believe its wrong and thats why I stopped smoking weed and I'm trying to stop drinking as well. I've had my weed habit kicked for a few years now and I'm still working to do the same to my booze habit.

I bet most people dont even know that Hemp was mandatory to grow in the 17th Century in most American Colonies, Or that George Washington's Major Cashcrop was actually marijuana.

According to the US Government, Cocaine and heroin are allowed to be researched because they can be used medicinally whereas Marijuana has no Medical Uses and is not allowed to be tested.

People thought that coke, opium and other dope had 1001 uses. Look what happened. I'm not saying that weed would be as bad but I'm still against it.

I agree. Never done any dope, never smoked cigs, and never have or will drink alchohol simply to get drunk.
