Hottest day ever in Melbourne today!

It reached 46.5C - 115.7F today here in Melbourne, officially the hottest day on record! Walking around outside earlier, it felt like i had a hairdryer blowing directly in my face, my god it is hot!

    Damn, that's hot.

I think the hottest it's ever gotten where I live is 108F two summers ago. It was about 33F today.

WOW! The only time in my life I experienced that kind of heat was in Las Vegas (July, 1998). By the way, what is the Himidity % there?

Youvalss hit it on the head...welcome to Vegas many days during the summer! When it's midnight and still 102 degrees life can really suck!

Trust me I feel for you. It's like standing next to the oven when you just opened the door.

Yikes, that's a bit hot! The hottest I've ever seen was about 105 degrees and that was plenty hot enough. And that's the only time I think I've ever been in 100+ degree heat. We hadn't been over the freezing mark the past two days until yesterday and our average high is 49, so these past few days have been pretty cool here!

Probably wasn't the hottest ever, though, in Melbourne (Weathermen always love to say this even though our records only date back 150-200 years). I'm sure in the past few thousand years there have been hotter days, but that is the hottest on record for sure!

Weird that at this exact same time, it's raining in San Diego.

Mother nature is really giving it to us this week down under! Blisteringly hot weather and devastating bushfires (that have so far killed 35 people) down south in Victoria/NSW, then we have massive floods in far north Queensland! A week us aussies will never forget!

But to top it all off, just heard a news report that arsonists are relighting fires that have previously being extinguished, ****ing scumbags i hope they catch em and throw them in the bloody flames!

Yeah peices of **** like that should burn in hell.

There is now a confirmed 108 people dead and over 750 homes destoyed in the bush fires they were saying on tv this morning. It's a truly sad couple of days for the country and shows just how powerful mother nature can be.

It's hard to imagine that up where we are in Townsville, Queensland it is the worst floods we have seen in 30+ years and yet you guys in Vic are going through this heatwave/fire outbreak.
