I hate snakes also, but I do think that they can love their owners. Otherwise they would be untrainable and we would hear a lot more reports about snakes strangling their owners when they put them around their necks.

It has been proven that snakes lack the part of the brain necessary to love. There are plenty of reports of snakes attacking their owners around the world. They won't kill just to kill, but if they were hungry they wouldn't think twice about killing their owner.

That is why I keep ferrets, weasel family members can easily kill snakes.

What can you train a snake to do?

My opinion though, I really don't understand the "reptiles as pets" thing. Especially venomous snakes, but even just regular ones, lizards, etc. You don't pet or cuddle with them, they don't really play games, etc. Just not something I get.

I get affection from women, I don't need my pet to love me. People like animals for different reasons I suppose.
