Snowed here all morning in Tuscaloosa. Made the power go out at my apartment complex three times. Annoying as hell. Hopefully this is the last cold spell for us.

It snowed over 1 1/2 feet in one place near Memphis yesterday and Arkansas got hit pretty hard, as well.

Northern Alabama and Mississippi had some decent snow and the Atlanta area got some decent snow, as well. Athens, GA got six inches and some isolated areas picked up 10 inches of snow.

Now the snow moves into my area. We've picked up a little under an inch in the hour-and-a-half since it started. Charlotte already has over three inches, from what I hear, so I think we're going to see more heading my way. I'd say anywhere from 3-9 inches right now for the Triad, depending on where the snow shield and banding sets up.

So glad it's not snowing around here.... I hate snow. Every winter makes me wonder why I haven't moved down south!

driving in the snow is not bad. The problem here is the snow on the streets melt and then at night the roads turn to ice.

You folks in Georgia unfortunately caught most of the snow at the wrong time: the afternoon. The high sun angle in March will kill accumulations, so I bet a lot of you could have seen in upwards of eight inches had this occurred at night. Greenville-Spartanburg, Clemson, and northeast Georgia, where it is still snowing, is getting in upwards of six inches and a lot of this has to do with the fact that a lot of their snow has been at night.

I've got about an inch on the ground now. The secondary roads are completely covered, though I suspect that the primary roads are fine. However, this thing is far from over with snow still extending well into parts of Georgia. There are some really heavy bands off to my west (2-3" per hour or more), so I hope some of that reaches me.

Yeah it was coming down a lot around 12PM at my house north of Atlanta, but during the afternoon, it switched from snow to rain mix and most of it melted. There are a few places that still have some snow on the ground, but most of it is gone.
