The only time I've ever eaten at a Cici's was in Orlando and it was disgusting. But as far as I know that was an exception to the rule, so in general their deal easily trumps Subway's $5 footlong deal, but if that Cici's was indicative of the quality of all Cici's, then Subway takes this hands down.

That Cici's was in all likelihood indicative of the quality of all Cici's.

I would rather pay $8.50 for a Pizza Hut buffet than $6 for Cici's, and Pizza Hut's buffet really isn't all that, either, but miles better than CiCi's. At least Pizza Hut's buffet pizza is actually pretty meaty, if nothing else.

At least I can take my Subway sandwich home and eat it in comfort, or eat it in the office at lunch time.

I'm going with Subway.

Cici's...it's the better deal. We aren't comparing health benefits of the respective franchsises, just pure volume per dollar. Though Cici's DOES have a decent salad bar you can all-you-can-eat gorge on (and that concept works if anyone's been to a Souplantion or Sweet Tomatoes).

Granted quality wise Cici's is on par with a Tombstone frozen pie, while Subway is crappy Oscar Mayer quality cold cuts, so no real winner there.

I think you can certainly take health benefits into account in this poll. The only thing I didn't want to take into account was accessibility (basically, the number of franchises) since Subway is EVERYWHERE and Cici's is just getting big in a lot of places.

For me, it depends on how much I want to eat. If I'm in the mood to stuff myself full of halfway decent pizza, then Cici's it is. But usually I'm in the mood to not feel like **** after I eat.. so Subway is going to have to get the win. Plus, the Cici's on my part of town is always packed with families... all of which seem to have like 7 kids under the age of 10. It's like being in a elementary school cafeteria. The place is nuts. I've gotta hand it to Cici's though, the desert is pretty freakin good for a buffet.

Yeah, Cici's, and it's not even close. I had a footlong about a week ago, and it was like eating cardboard. Cici's pizza quality is pretty weak, but for a cheap dinner when the wife doesn't feel like cooking, it's not a bad alternative.

I hate it when companies show ads on tv for places that dont exist in my neck of the woods.

Take for example,
Ruby Tuesdays (The only two near me are 28 and 35 miles away)
Cicis (No idea where one is) EDIT: LOL just looked it up, nearest one is in Vegas!
Sonic (Nearest one is 30 min away)

Sonic must be notorious for it because for the past 4 years they've been showing commercials and the nearest one to Chicago was about an hour or so away in Indiana.

They recently opened one up in the suburbs so their ridiculous advertising might be worthwhile.

Sonic must be notorious for it because for the past 4 years they've been showing commercials and the nearest one to Chicago was about an hour or so away in Indiana.

They recently opened one up in the suburbs so their ridiculous advertising might be worthwhile.

A lot of companies do this. Macys for one will even print ads and coupons in the paper for a year or 2 before they open a store in a new area.

yeah when I grew up in Chicago I used to see ads for these all the time then I moved to Texas and they are all over the place. Their food isnt anything special but you can get pretty much any flavored slushy type drink you want.

Wow, I voted and couldn't believe Cici's was losing. I love their buffet and always get full whenever I eat there. Subway on the other hand isn't that great and there's no flavor to their sandwiches other then the Meatball.

The Cici's by me was 3.99 when I went in there the other day, $4.30 after tax which is a pretty good deal for all the crappy pizza you can eat. Problem is it is more or less a disgusting place to be inside.

I ate Subway tonight and it was pretty good (Subway Melt with lettuce, tomato, onions, salt and pepper) but it was $5.XX and isn't a ton of food. Doesn't compare to Harris Teeter $4 footlong fridays.

I'd rather eat something healthier at Subway personally, but if you want to eat a ton Cici's is your thing.

Cici's is supposedly one of the healthier fast food type places to eat as long as you don't eat 8 tons of it.

Anyway, I take Cici's hands down. I don't eat there that often, but it's pretty tough to beat for $4.99.

Thanx, mang... I had not been aware of this deal at Harris Teeter. Gotta be a lot better than Subway's cardboard sammiches... I tell you, if Jersey Mike's ever had a similar deal, they'd make an absolute killing.
