By my sides, dangling; bored - waiting for it to be over.

I'd prefer to them to just be across my lap as I'm sitting down, but apparently because everyone else thinks the anthem is so important, they throw ****ing hissy fits if you don't stand up and acknowledge it.

Mine are always behind my back.
I saw that on the Baylor board and couldn't keep from rolling my eyes before I even finished reading it.

My hands go behind my back during the anthem.

So is that a law? I had always heard it was a law that you had to remove your hat.

I think you should either put your hand over your heart or behind your back. Don't be like the Detroit fan I saw at the Mavericks game last night and chomp on a soft pretzel the entire time.

i have taken a bite from a hot dog while the anthem was playin. it really dont matter to be honest. the flag that is waving and the country that we live in is all about freedom well whats so free about having to put your hands in a special spot while the anthem is playin.

I don't think it's the law, but just like there's a procedure for handling the United States flag, those are United States code. It's not the law, but it's how you "should" do it according to the US Government.
