    My dog just died.

I found her dead this afternoon under my dresser. I loved her so much. I vomited twice and cried for about and 1 and a half. I loved her so much. I don't know who to turn to.

The lasting image is the way her face looked when I found her. So sad and lifeless. She was sick for months and I had a feeling this day was coming. I don't know what to do. This is the worst day of my life by far. I can't stop crying.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. Losing a dog or any family pet for that matter is just horrible. I really feel for you man, if you feel like crying some more, just do it. It really will make you feel better.
Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.

I can't stop crying. Her face when I found her dead........... I can't get it out of my head. I don't feel any better. She was by my side for 8 years, she slept with me through those years. She loved me so much. I feel like I let her down. I'm not sure how some of you guys have been able to handle this. I have a new level of respect for you all.

Man, I'm so sorry to hear that bro...thats one of the saddest things to go through in life.

My dog is turning 17 in a month and I know its around the corner, but this really hits home...its something I truly fear almost everyday.

        So sorry bro, RIP.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry! What a terrible way to go and for you to have to go through. I hope you were able to make your last moments with her special!

I'm feeling it on this side of the connection man, very deeply. May she rest in peace.

It is truly horrible. I now have a totally different perspective on life. It really is a surreal feeling.

Damn man, I'm so sorry to hear this.

I know what it's like to be on both ends. I've been able to say goodbye to two of my dogs, and be with them at the vet, but I also had one of my dogs have a heart attack when I was at my Dad's. Even 12+ years later, I still remember my Mom calling me and telling me Star (My Dalmatian) died. I remember exactly where I was in the house and exactly what I was doing when my Dad gave me the phone.

I get over it by thinking a bunch about the good times we had together, and crying like a baby. If crying helps you, then do it, don't hold back. If you have pictures of her, looking at those also help me. I've still got a picture of the last dog I put down sitting next to my computer. Just helps me remember the good times.

Dude, I am so sorry This is for me one of the worst times of my life when my first dog died. There are no words to comfort you right now. It took me along time and I still think of her. My dog got me through a traumatizing time being ripped out of high school in the middle of the year because we had to move to a different state. She was my rock for a long time that year...When I had to put her down, I called out of work for a couple of days..I couldn't function. All you can do is remember her for all those years and what she meant to you. There are still times now that I think of what she used to do and how she used to act...Man this is a great forum. If you have to vent just do it Good luck to you

Like I said, I can't stop crying. It hurts even more to think about good times and looking at old pictures. Unfortunately, I dont think I will ever completely get over this. I was in my office with the door shut (on Operation Sports) a couple of hours ago when I heard her come up the stairs. I just thought she was going coming to relax in one of the other bed rooms. Then I heard this mini crash of sorts (I'm guessing she collapsed) and thought nothing of it. When I eventually did find her my heart sank like a stone. Truly the worst feeling I have ever had.

I have alot of respect for you and anyone else who went through this. It is awful. I have no idea how I am going to feel tomorrow morning when it hits me that she is gone.

                    Re: My dog just died.

My condolences man... people always diminish animal deaths because they're not human, but that doesn't make them any less a part of the family or any less important. Losing childhood pets especially hurts because they're such a big part of your formative years and your memories for the rest of your life.

And don't beat yourself up about the last part of her life... there's nothing we can really do to help very sick animals, especially when they're already old... surgeries and medical procedures don't tend to prolong their lives much and just serve to get you into debt. At least she died at home instead of at an animal hospital or something... you did the best you could with a bad situation. There was no way to know that she was going to die today of all days...

                    RIP to AlexBrady's dog.

I love this forum. I really have nobody else to turn to. Thanks for caring guys. I won't forget this. I'm going to have to rethink how I live my life. Stop being so cynical and always looking for flaws is how I used to be. I have to live life to the fullest from now on.

I just can't get her face, when I found out she passed, out of my head. It is so shocking. I'm shaking right now and bawling like a 4 year old who didn't get ice cream.

Yeah it is hard. I remember when I had to put my dog to sleep. You just have to surround yourself love ones. And also, keep reminding yourself she was sick and that was probably painful for her, so now she is not in pain any more. Hang in there bro.

I'm so sorry to hear this Alex. I have 3 cockerspaniels, my oldest just had 2 reconstructive ear surgeries(2 weeks apart) & now is totally deaf. Watching her in the state she's in right now is painful. Not to mention she's almost 11 years old.

I also dread the day she's gone, just hearing your pain has gotten me a little emotional because I love her very much. My prayers are with you during this time. Be well my friend
