Also you are right the "back side" of the island is cool as hell, the cliffs and rocks are really something to see. What about the prison you pass on the way to the other side?
yeah, I remember the prison. The back side of the island was my favorite part. Could sit there all day and just look. I plan to go back there sometime, love that place.

Natalee Holloway. They actually released a movie about it a couple weeks ago, sad stuff. They actually caught the guy spill the beans to his friend on video. It's on YouTube.

I dont thinks most people realize how much fun you can have with a bunch of guys in Aruba! What I mean is anything goes on the locals side of the island if you know what I mean. The Aruban women are beautiful and really like to hang out with American men! Also there are some awesome bars on the St. Nicolas side of the island that most tourist have no clue about.
Also where are you staying? Are you renting a car? If so rent a Jeep, if you dont they will give you a really small ****y car.
I'm going with my girlfriend. We're staying in the low rise section. I'm not sure if we'll be renting a car. Maybe for a day or so.

We stayed at the Hyatt which was awesome, but I will admit it was expensive. When we go back we plan on staying somewhere a little less expensive. Our hotel bill alone after 5 nights came out to about 5k. But we did massages and all types of other crap and charged it to the room. Regardless, still expensive.

The restaurants were also expensive (around $120 a couple), but definetly worth every penny. I would recommend El Gaucho's, Texas De Brazil, Yemanja, and Gianni's. We also went to the Flying Fishbone which is on the beach and you watch the sun go down while you eat, but we hated it. The tables were too close together and it was really far from the hotel.

              Some random notes.

The customs service in Aruba sucks. We waited on line in the Aruba airport coming and going for at least an hour each.

Every place you eat will ask you if you want sparkling water. If you say yes (which my wife did for every meal) they will leave to bottle on the table and charge you about $15 for the bottle at the end of the meal. We didn't notice this until the last day.

Try the local beer (Balashi). I loved it.

If you want to bring some Cuban cigars back, just take them out of the metal tube and peel the label off. Everyone does it that way and they don't care at all.

You have to wear some strong *** sunscreen. Its windy there so the sun never feels as strong as it really is. I got burnt to a crisp the second day I was there and got the chills really bad that night. The second to last day we were there we spent the whole day jetskiing and tubing and the next day I had a horrible flu, and that was with sunscreen on.

Watch out for iguanas. They're everywhere. Scared the hell out of me.

              Have fun
Thanks for the tips. We can't wait! Would you recommend making reservations for any of those restaurants or should we be fine if we just show up?

We would tell our concierge to make reservations that same day. It was never a problem. I think the beach side dinner had to be made a day in advance, but I'm telling you it sucked. Not worth it.
