Good plans...it definitely helps to have a goal/reason in mind. For me, it was that a lot of women don't like to date smokers. Oddly enough, my own health (while a good reason) wasn't good enough to focus on. Once I had a quality goal (I also was saving up for something electronic like TJ) it was easier.
Also, try and avoid your big triggers if possible. My biggest were smoking while driving and smoking while drinking. I avoided drinking, and just had to be vigilant when I was driving around.
I'm going on 2 years in a couple months, and it was the best thing I could have done. Now the smell of smoke grosses me out. Very rarely when I'm stressed I'll think "man, a smoke would be nice", but it's something I can very easily block...
It's awesome to feel healthier, and just not smell like *** anymore lol
