My definition: watches pretty much all the games, follows that team and only that team, and is knowledgeable about that team.

I have to admit, I haven't watched much of my sports teams recently (and it tears me up, I've got to start watching again). With the internet, it's so easy to see scores, boxscores, stats, and recaps to get a feel for the game. But you don't really know unless you watch the game unfold.

So I guess I'm losing my die-hard fan-ness because I haven't watched much of the games of my teams recently. But I'm always on top of the latest teams news and am emotionally invested in how my teams play. So I've got 2/3 of the equation down pat.

I don't know many die hard fans. They may watch most of the games and follow just that team, but it seems like many people just don't know much about their team or have just flat out wrong information about their team.

Pretty much what you said...except for the other teams thing.

See, when the Browns left, I'll admit to becoming a bandwagon 49ers fan, because I was young...and nieve, but I actually still follow the 49'ers.

My biggest pet peeve is the people who root for the team that left your city. To this day, I cannot understand how people can root for the Ravens if you've lived in Cleveland your entire life. I don't understand it and I never will understand it.

but you imo aren't a die-hard 49ers fan, sorry. Just as I'm not a die-hard Jets fan. I liked the Packers and Steelers before.

I'm a Yankees and Spurs fan die-hard, because I've always liked them and never strayed away from them.

I ask myself the same question sometimes when I hear people say that.

Here's my take, I live in Texas, but my family is originally from Los Angeles. I was born and raised here in El Paso, but I have followed Californian teams since I can remember. And when I tell people who my favorite teams are, they say I'm a bandwagon fan or not a true "Texan" (whatever that means, I laugh when I hear that), because of the teams I like (Lakers, Dodgers, 49ers). I am a fan of all sports and I have never turned my back on any of my teams, even when they lose, because a true fan never hides what team they like.

Since I don't live around those areas, going to any of those games is impossible for me, so I watch every single game I can watch from those teams. If that means, get the sports packages, I will. I just recently purcahsed the MLB package, because I noticed only a couple of Dogers games would be on national tv. So now I get to follow them all season.

So to me, if you're a person that will got out of the way to watch a game from your favorite team by any possible means, then you should be called a die-hard fan.
