If Activision were to acquire them I'd be extremely happy. When Activision gets involved with games they never fail.

I don't know, they seem to be running Guitar Hero into the ground.

Not really, they are just over promoting it, they don't have much to market right now and music never gets old. So they are milking the herd! lol

Every 2 seconds they go new download content.

Both are disappointed with 2K9; I hope that means anything. No I am nto saying that they are Gods but two of the bigger fans of the series are not pleased. Hopefully 2K can get their act together.

I am pretty sure that the "higher ups" are the ones that are causing this game to be so arcady. SimBalla, Rob, ZTimm, I know they are good dudes and they want a sim game.

I agree with you behindshadows, I honestly think it isn't 2ksports sports' fault that much. They just don't have the funding the make the game the best it can be. i completely skipped out on the series this year because i was so disappointed with them that no patch could help it enough. I bought 2k5 with updated rosters, and bought ch2k8 just because I think those are their 2 best games. I feel bad for you. Having so much loyalty for a company, then they just get worse every year. Somebody needs to buy 2k sports, and they will be able to make better games. When EA actually makes a good game, 2k has just been slacking and not trying then just dropping the series. If 2k could make better games, EA would try harder and all sports gaming would change and we would be getting the best games possible for our $60

Man that would make me happy as well, I think Activision would give them a better graphics engine and give them a better development budget. Not to mention Activision knows marketing and how to advertise. Spiderman is a perfect example, Call of Duty, you name it, these guys turn games into gold and platinum hits.

You are one of a handful of people that I've seen complain about the graphics in 2k9 and I have no idea how you can think that the graphics aren't good.

I pretty much continued gaming in college just for sports games. I would buy every sport, football, basketball, baseball and hockey and usually those would be 2K games though I admit I also got Madden/NCAA every year. The past two years though the only sports games I've put serious time in were FIFA/PES. Sports games kind of grew stale to me while the emergence of XBL allowed to continue gaming via shooters.

I'm sure in a year or two I'll resume sports game like I used to but for now it's too stale to me and I knew a little vacation from it would be for the best. I don't expect any of the games to be that much better by then (for example I imagine my experience with Madden 2011/2012 will be similar to that of Madden 08) but after three years away from the games it will probably be a fresh experience.

Man do I miss 2k baseball though. World Series Baseball 2K2, 2K3, ESPN Baseball (same series but different name), were some of my favorite sports games.

I agree to an extent. The graphics in NBA 2K9, for example, are the best the series has ever seen. MLB 2K9 looks almost on-par with NBA but a few issues with player faces and uniform accessories hold it back.

However, NHL 2K9's player models don't look all that impressive this year. Arenas are brilliant and some of the best I've ever seen, and the fans certainly look detailed, but the player models leave a lot to be desired.

Like I said in my previous post, though, all three 2K titles this year have massive amounts of potential. It's only a matter of time before we know if it'll be used wisely or laid to waste. We've all seen Visual Concepts' work in the past...let's see how they'll do when the pressure's on. The 2K10 series should be interesting.
