    Name a sports game that was generally beloved by the community...

    ...that you hated or just couldn't get into.

    For me, I didn't like NCAA Football 07 (Reggie Bush cover). It seemed to be highly regarded as one of the best NCAA's, but the momentum meter and WWF tackles causing waaaay too many fumbles just ruined this game for me.

    Also, MVP baseball 2005. For some reason (I have no good explanation for this), I liked 2004 better and after 90-or-so games I sold it back to the store.

      Inside Drive. I owned a couple games in the series and I hated all of them. It was way too easy for me to do whatever I wanted, the graphics were horrible, and the commentary was awful.

          The Show and NFL2K.

          Both are good games, but not the end all be all that everyone thinks they are, to me anyway.

                      This one's easy - either of the two most recent NHL games. I've only rented them both, but I just don't see why everyone thinks they're so much better than EA's past offerings in the gameplay department. It still moves too fast and plays are too crisp and perfect - passes right on the tape, and most unblocked shots being right on net. I do like the Be a Pro thing though - that's a great addition.

                      I think 2k has gone downhill in their NHL games though, so maybe that's why everyone considers '08 and '09 to be so good....I dunno.

                          I dont completely agree on The Show. I love that game, but its not without its issues (what game isnt).

                          And i didnt really get into NFL2k

                          I think the NHL games ahve been lacking, and I have yet to find a basketball game since David Robinson's basketball (1995 i believe) that i liked.

                                  The Show. Beautiful down to the very last detail. Not a bad game at all.

                                  I just prefer better ball physics when the ball comes off the bat. Unrealistic how it's a line drive everytime. Bothers me

                                      I'm confused by the OP putting "beloved" in the title then talking about games he didn't like or thought were overrated.

                                      are we talking about games that are universally loved, as the thread title would suggest? or did the OP just use the wrong word?

                                                      For me it was Pong.

                                                      Everybody was freakin' out about it and me...I just thought it was a slow glowing green dot bouncing of some lines. The momentum physics was poorly executed and where was the Create a Pong feature?

                                                          Hmmm I thought the Reggie Bush cover was 06. But anyway.....all the nascar games and hockey games. Oh and the March Madness series. Just can't get into any of them.
