Just failed my driving test...

Well, this sucks. I just failed my driving test. Hit the stupid cone. Now I have to go all the way back out to the DMV and take it again...

Anybody have any good DMV stories?

I saw a kid fail before he even got out of the parking spot. His wheels were turned all the way to the right, he was parked next to the planter so when he gave it gas, he ran over the curb.

I never had to do a driving test. I did the course at home then went to the DMV and passed the test. Got 21/28 questions right and passed LOL

sry you failed man was it hard? im taking mine in one year and one month i gets my temps in 6 months so i can drive with my parents.

It was very easy for me, but I had some trouble getting my seat belt to buckle before pulling out, which would have made me fail the test. Fortunately, I got it snapped just in time. I ended up having to replace the seat belt the next week, though.

Well, the only thing I was worried about was the manuverability and passed it with ease. The one funny thing that happened to me was that my trunk popped open while doing the actual driving, and we didn't notice it. We got 3/4ths of the way through before someone told us about it. Luckily I didn't get any points deducted for it, passed the test with 100%(though the only challenging part is the manuverability, the driving is a joke, all short backstreets with about 3 stop signs).

I didn't have to take a driving test, just the written one.

I failed my first time.

I was doing the backing up part of the parallel parking and the ho I was with said "keep going, keep going, keep going, you failed" as I hit the cone. She said not to listen to the passenger.

Then she tried to drive my car back with the E brake up, asking me what was happening.

I passed my permit with flying colors, just missed a question about how you report something to the DMV after an accident or something.

As for the test, three times I got points off for not counting three Mississippi's at stop signs, then going (I sure stopped for a long time, though... definitely didn't roll through them). Then we were at a four way intersection where I was turning left with two left turn lanes (I was furthest over), and on the turn with no real distinct markings on the road I guess I accidentally crossed over to where people to the right of me would have been if they turned left. Thankfully nobody was over there. I realized it instantly, and as she was telling me about it at the end I even finished the sentence for her, which I guess she admired that I had realized it.

Otherwise, everything else went great. The test is really easy, any nut can pass it (which is scary).

Yeah, I got through the whole test with absolutely no problem, until I got to the parking part. The thing is, I was driving my grandfather's SUV, which is a lot wider than the car I'm used to driving, so I kind of misjudged the turn.

Then I barely graze the cone with my back corner and the dude starts screaming in this nasally voice, "You can't hit the cones! You can't hit the cones! Look, you're hitting 'em left and right!!" Very annoying experience...

Now wait, was this a closed course? My driving test was all on public roads.

Was this those ones with the cardboard cut-outs that run out in the middle of the street on cue and everything, like you see on TV?

Haha, no - I wish. It's just that the DMV I went to is in some crappy mall complex, so a lot of the test is in the parking lot there. They have you go out onto some side streets for a little bit, but not much.

So it was really a very easy test, until you get to the parking part. They just have a normal parking spot and they nailed cones into the ground at the corners. It seemed easy enough, but I kinda rushed it and didn't really take into account that the SUV was wider than I was used to. Oh well, I'll make an appointment for next week...
