Yep. Texting is the best because they feel safe and they open up way too much in my opinion. I remember meeting some ladies online and after a few days of texting they were falling in love lol. It happens and texting makes things go way faster because both of you are in your comfort zone so to speak.Comment

Try that 1800 mile relationship last year it was very tough. And I am off one week a month so I visit her one week a month. Very costly.Comment

Then why are you so worried about when it's okay to call/text her? Put yourself out there, if she wants to hit you back, she will. Now that you've already done that, call/text when you want to. If she continues to respond, you may be on to something.
If you're honestly not deadset on making this in to an online, long distance, or domestic relationship, there shouldn't be pressure.
But it sounds like you're looking for a girlfriend despite the difference in location.
I've never done this, so maybe I'm way off. But if you're talking regularly for a while, eventually you're gonna have to ask up front what's the expectation? Something she wants to pursue or just a friend to chat with online/phone.
Just like face to face. You start by hanging out with a prearranged activity (movie, with friends, etc). Eventually as you get to know each other better, you gotta ask if the girl wants to be exclusive and make it "official."
I mean, it's the Internet. If you feel you've reached the point where you wanna take it to the next step, just be up front about it. Worst case is she stops talking to you.
Everyone overthinks this stuff. Maybe it's because I'm older now and have been in a long term relationship and now marriage, but those games are for kids. As an adult, we have to juggle our jobs, families, hobbies, and responsibilities. Why make a relationship into something you have to worry about? It should be fun and exciting especially at the beginning. You aren't obligated to anything like you are to get up for work or pay your bills... just be cool, go with the flow, and enjoy the ride. I look back fondly on the summer I spent chasing my wife, and no matter the ups (first kiss!) and downs ("why are you throwing away a good thing?"), I remember stopping a few times to just reflect on this adventure of courtship. Even if it were to end, I was gonna learn and grow from the experience.Last edited by slickdtc; 06-23-2015, 10:37 AM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

This is the key but imagine if you knew that at a younger age than you are now. How much different dating would have been!?Comment

I say this to simply address... It doesn't matter where two people meet each other as long as they both want the same thing and are ready for commitment.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
