Getting Married in less than 2 months, need advice..

Hey so the big day is less than 2 months (55 days to be exact) and its coming so soon. Well as much as this is a huge day for me I'm really not too focused on it because it is just one night. I'm more focused on what the hell me and my fiance are going to do after we get married. I'm stationed in Rhode Island (Navy) and she is in Ohio, after we get married were going to drive up here where she will now live with me in off-base housing (Navy pays for it, we only pay cable, internet..)

Well the thing I need advice is that were going to have to buy a ton of stuff. Washer, dryer, TV, furiniture, household products, blah blah blah. The house the Navy provides us with already comes with a refrigerator and stove. But everything else were going to have to buy.

The only things I own is a car, laptop, PS3, clothes. I dont own any bed, table, appliances or anything and neither does she but she does own more than me.

So any advice where are good stores to get all these things at for decent prices?

I'm going to be so freaking broke after all this. And this is the 1st time I'm in a position to buy so much stuff and its kind of overwhelming right now. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Have you guys registered anywhere? Put appliances on the list:

coffee maker, blender, silverware, dishes, can opener, pillows, sheets, blankets, picture frames, clocks, end tables, lamps, etc...

Let friends and family furnish the "small, less expensive" appliances for your house.

And buy one thing at a time and don't go overboard on the price and don't let price = quality. Remember a couch is a couch, a chair is a chair. No need to buy expensive.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I was hoping to get mature responses on this, I've heard all the "your too young, blah blah blah bs."

Anyways yes we have registered at a few places but I have a feeling the majority of the stuff we will have to buy. And what makes it harder is were getting married in Ohio, then we will live in Rhode Island.

Thanks, yeah I'm definently not going to go overboard. I really dont care what kinda couch we have or whatever, I've lived in horrible enviroments for over a year so I'm grateful for anything nowadays.

Well, my parents got me a cheap couch for my first apartment and personally I'd say it sucks. The cushions sink in too much a gap always develops betweens the cushions. So I wouldn't say a couch is a couch as far as quality goes.

I would say sign up as a Reward Zone member and get your appliances at Best Buy and then use the Reward Points to get any smaller stuff. Kohls has good deals on stuff and if you have a Kohls card you can usually get 15% off your purchase that would cover coffee maker, blender, silverware, dishes, can opener, pillows, sheets, blankets, picture frames, clocks. Bed I would goto Big Lots or a combination of Big Lots for bed frame and mattress at Menards. These are the places I feel have the cheapest prices, but check the ads too.

Dont spend too much incase it doesnt work out, I mean your only 20. j/k good luck

Good idea on the best buy thing. I can use the reward points for smaller purchases.

And I make more than usual for a 20 year old. Not bragging or anything I do have a steady paycheck that is more than enough for myself. Now bringing her in the picture with all these new purchases has me a little worried. It's going to suck for a few months but once all the buying is over with I should be ok. And hopefully by that time she can find a new job up here.

Check out close out sales, craigslist, ebay, wait until the new models come in, see if you can get the older ones, try for display models (you can usually get a good deal on floor models).
