        Sorry to hear that man.

2 years ago my dad had Melanoma in his neck, he had surgery to remove it, and we were lucky it hadn't gotten into his lymph nodes and it was removed well. He got staph infection after, however, and had to go the hospital 2 days afterward. He spent 4 days in the ICU, but we were lucky enough that they found the right antibiotics to fix it.

For you & your family during this trying time.

          NEVER READY TO SAY GOODBYE

We’re never ready to say goodbye

          To someone we hold dear.

If it were up to us, dear Dad,

          We’d always keep you here.

But God has reasons of His own

          And plans we cannot know,

And these are always for our good,

Though it may seem not so.

Our arms are empty and our hearts

Are filled with tears and grief,

For we who loved each day with you,

Now find those days too brief.

Yet if we could only heaven see,

          We’d know you’re happy there,

And we would never call you back

When such great joy you share.

And so we’ll trust you to God’s great care

And know some day, once more,

We’ll hold you to our hearts again

          When we reach heaven’s shore.

          (Poem by Saralyn Smith)

Stay strong, and let your Dad live through you man.
This is a great poem! This is what he'd probably say if he was still here with us. I appreciate this poem & will print this to share with my family. He was a man of God & influenced so many lives. Thanks again for the nice & kindly poem. It means a lot.

Been there man. Nothing will make it better. Time will ease it. Just know he is always with you.

Very sorry to hear of your loss Tony.

I understand the pain as others do. I lost my father several years ago. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my hero.

God bless you and your family.

We as a family are in shock because for the first 8 days after surgery he was recovering so well. This is the absolute hardest thing that I've been faced with in my whole life. I will depend on the Lord to get me through this. This is just a total shock to me.

I just seen him the day before he developed complications & he was doing better than expected. I's just so sad & overwhelmed right now with grief. He was only 66 years old & was a strong man. We just thought he would always make it through anything because he was so strong & a fighter. I will never get over him but he'd want me & my entire family to keep the faith & go on with our lives. It's just so hard because he was loved by many & never met a stranger in his life. He made many friends & always has been a family man. I cry as I write this & please keep me in your thoughts because this is truly the most difficult thing I've ever faced. Thanks!
Man I can't even imagine losing any one of my parents. I broke down over my grandmother who I only saw a few times a year I don't even want to think about my parents. Just be strong man. I feel for you. I'm an "older" guy here on these boards so logic tells me that my parents aren't going to be around forever but that doesn't stop the heart from thinking they will.

Only thing I can tell you is to live the way you know he wanted you to. Make him proud everyday and do what you gotta do. My thoughts go out to you. In due time we all will see the ones we lost again so in the meantime build up a life with stories you can tell him when you see him again.
