Playing LB in football on a muddy field, I went shoulder first into the mud. Needless to say, the was no give at all, and I ripped my collar bone out of the socket, along with the cartilage still connected. This is known as a 5th degree sep shoulder, the worst you can have.

Re: Have you ever broken any bones?
Nope and I use to skateboard (doing some crazy stuff) and play baseball, basketball, and football all the time too. I attribute never breaking a bone to probably the gallon (or more) of milk I've drank since childhood...strong STONG bones here.
Many many cuts, gashes, and scars resulting from stitches though.Last edited by JBH3; 05-05-2009, 02:00 PM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

This thread is painful.
Thankfully, I've never broken a bone (knock on wood), though I did tear some ligaments in my ankle last year.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Re: Have you ever broken any bones?
I'm in pain just reading that.
So far I've managed to avoid breaking a bone, though I did thought I had broke a toe once, but I think now it was just a bruise.Comment

Re: Have you ever broken any bones?
Broke my dominant hand, skateboarding...I was casted up 6 weeks, and had to go to rehab to get full range of motion back (I've got a metal plate in there and I still dont have full sensation around my knuckles).
The worst part about it was that I had to drop out of culinary school...I couldnt use a knife or pick up a pan, I was a liability.
Other than that, no broken bones, but alot of snowboarding injuries (sprained ankles, wrists, bruised tailbone, tore cartilige in both knees)...I'm not gonna be able to walk when I'm older.

Re: Have you ever broken any bones?
Broke my Nose once Skiing
Broke my knuckle once
Broke my wrist one
Broke my femur
Dislocated a couple bones in my foot required surgury
Last summer I dislocated a couple of bones in my foot as well as broke my wrist during a freak tennis accident. The foot was so serious and such a rare injury that it required surgery. Well I was recover from my foot injury, I was at a school trip and I was in a wheelchair, so the person pushing me went way to fast and the wheelchair flipped over with me inside it forcing me to brake my femur.
So after a combined 7 months of recover I am finally walking.Comment

Re: Have you ever broken any bones?
Luckily I never have, hope to keep it that way. Although, I've had my fair share of nagging injuries. My knees are completely messed up from playing basketball, baseball, and football for 10 years of my life. I also had tendonitis in my elbow for a long time from pitching, it hurt so bad that I DH'd for almost a whole year, and had to stop playing baseball after last year because it got really bad again. Lastly, I strained/pulled my groin about 3-5 times, each time I could barely walk, and if I did it killed.Comment

Re: Have you ever broken any bones?
Left collarbone, metacarpals in both hands, metatarsals in both feet, humerus in my right arm, and ribs.
I think that's everything. Luckily I haven't broken anything other than a metatarsal in awhile, which seems to happen once a year or so. Hopefully it stays that way.Comment

Re: Have you ever broken any bones?

Broke my right humerous in a car accident in Jan '07. The actual break didn't hurt too much, and after I got to the hospital I was pumped full of so much morphine I couldn't feel a thing. That x-ray shows the break. Was directly above the right elbow
However the part that hurt the most was waking up after the surgery that installed a metal plate and 12 screws to help hold it back together. Still have the plate and screws in today.
That was some of the worst pain I've ever felt in my life.
I've also broken a metatarsil in my foot, but that really didn't hurt so much.Comment
