If you ask me it's more of a "the parents don't give a damn what the kid is doing as long as they're not bothering them" that I have problem with. I'm telling you these kids today are some of the most disrespectful kids I've ever seen. I remember when I was growing up and you got smart with some grownup,they'd go and tell your dad,and buddy I'm telling you he'd handle it. I know I'm not the only one who had parents like that. Now,one of these young jitterbugs does something out of the way to you,you might as well not even go to the parents,because you're gonna get cussed out.

Amen, I see this all the time in school. Many kids push teachers buttons because they know they can get away with it. They might get detention or something but eventually the teacher will have to talk to the kids parents and the parents won't care, might tell the teacher to quit telling them how to raise their kids, and eventually the teachers quit trying and eventually have to put up with this crap. Which you know goes back to what I said in my earlier post about beliefs. They shape who we are and how we act. It's just sad that some people are accepting beliefs that eventually lead to behavior that will be destructive to them later in life.

Hell up until 8th grade my father used to tell all of my teachers that they had the right to BEAT me

Im white so i don't want to really delve into things here, But I live in the Loop in Chicago and I agree with you.

For whatever reason, there seems to be a great lack of respect, desire, and self worth in the black community. I was hoping a great African American role model like Obama was going to help this but I haven't noticed much of a change.

Hopefully the kids growing up in these times will make a change for the better. God know the deck is stacked against them going to Chicago public schools and applying for a job when there name is "Shaquinda"

I concur. Dropping my daughter off at her old day care was ridiculous. Just an unruly mob of kids hitting and biting. Some kids dropped off there in the same pajamas all week long. I'm talking 3 year old kids that were expected to go outside on nice days. I just shake my head at these parents. No real care for their kids. No discipline. They don't spend any time with their kids to bother teaching them the right things.

And this was at a relatively decent Day Care center that cost $200/week.

For the most part the parent that understand the responsibilty of being a parent have good kids. The selfish parents that put themselves first before the kids have bastards. Its just that simple.
