    Favorite Sandwich Thread

Since I love sandwiches I thought I would post a Favorite Sandwich thread!

The Reuben! Personally I enjoy my Reuben with Coleslaw instead of Sauerkraut, I find the best Coleslaw to use is from KFC because it is not covered in Mayo and has a good flavor(it is a good idea to strain it before you make your sandwich so it does not make the bread soggy)

Could a mod fix my title to "Favorite Sandwich"

Oh, the arguments me and my best friend have on this very topic. I say the Meatball Sub, he says the Philly Cheesesteak. The debate gets pretty intense at times...

If you use Slaw instead of Kraut, is it still technically a rueben? To me, the thing that makes a rueben is the sweet taste of the Kraut. Unless you use a Slaw that's based in vinegar (like at Primanit Bros in Pittsburgh) instead of a maynoaise based slaw... in that case it's essentially Kraut.

I do love the Reuben though. I just had a homemade turkey rueben today. My mom used her new Panini press.

I'm a big fan of a good Italian hoagie, though. Good meats, good cheese, roll perfectly toasted, and good Italian dressing... throw some lettuce on there, maybe some banana peppers... can't beat it.

Also, at a lot of places here in the Twin Cities, I see what the menu lists as a "Hot Dago", which is an italian sausage patty, topped with mozzarella cheese, and smothered in marinara sauce and sauteed onions, peppers, and sometimes mushrooms. Delicious!

                    The Philly Cheesesteak...BUT...the only worthwhile Cheesesteak's are IN Philly. (Jim's, Pat's, Geno's).

...Since I live in VA, and eating any other imitation just doesn't compare.

I'd have to say that a ROAST BEEF sandwhich w/ the following is my fav:

                    -Tomato
                    -Lettuce
                    -Provolone or Swiss
                    -Mustard
                    -Whole Wheat Bread
                    -Half a Pickle

Three slices of rye bread, four slices of pepper jack cheese, four large tomato slices, decent amount of lettuce, roasted red pepper hummus as the condiment and a few banana pepper rings.

I cannot wait until I'm back in NJ and I'm going straight to Harolds NY Deli

But there is this one sammich at a local deli where I used to live, grilled chicken, pesto, fried sweet onions, melted provolone, on a toasted ciabbata roll.
