You've never heard of it, but we used to have here a board game called "Package Has Arrived" (that's the best translation I could come up with). The game was created in the 70's, I think, and it was kind of birocracy game - you had to manage your life like in real life - applying to gevernment offices for stuff and arrangement, pay them money etc. etc..

Re: What's Your Favorite Board Game?
Risk 2210 - like Risk, but it has more territories (underwater colonies, the Moon), army commanders (who roll eight-sided dice when attacking in some situations), and strategy cards that can benefit you and/or hurt other players. It also has some rules (that I've personally never played with) that limit the game to five turns to make it playable in one sitting, if desired.
Doom: The Board Game - yes, it's based off of the PC game. It's a whole lot of fun, IMO, though, because of how much it seems to play like the PC game. The original game is mainly set up for cooperative play (up to three players vs. one player who controls all the bad guys), but an expansion pack added rules for free-for-all deathmatches as well.Comment

Third Reich by Avalon Hill

I started playing this as a kid and had a really hard time understanding all the rules -- so I sort of made my own. I can't wait till my son is old enough to play with me.Congratulations BUTLER BULL DOGS!

I love Cranium! It's so much fun playing with your family or friends. The humming part is hilarious. My friend was supposed to hum the word yesterday, but it wasn't even close. Everyone kept guessing random words, and when time was up he said yesterday. It sounded like Mm-hm-hm. Great memories from Cranium.Comment

Re: What's Your Favorite Board Game?
Not a big fan of Risk...the Australia strategy works too well if the game takes some time to get going.
My favorites, in order, are:
Settlers of Catan (preferably Cities and Knights)
Ticket to Ride
Axis & Allies
Carcasonne
Parcheesi
Sorry!
...and many more.
My wife and I have a couple adult "board game nights" with her coworkers and others every month, and we play a lot of games with our son. We love destroying each other, the elimination of second place (sorry, you are FIRST LOSER), and we are extremely competitive.
While everyone may get a trophy on his T-Ball team that I coach, at home, there is one winner, and two (or more) LOSERS!!
