Re: Highway Patrol pulls over ambulance with patient in back

The only reason the cop pulled over the ambulance and shoved him against the police car is because the cop thought he flipped him off.

That's the story, it wasn't for not following traffic rules or anything ticket related.

only 2-3 minutes, we were only about a mile away from the post when he put his flashers on. I didnt really think it was a big deal because these cops are briefed on Army activities and they know the army pretty much rules the roads in Hawaii.

Another story where a stupid cop will be back on the street after acting unprofessional and disrespectful. Lately, the "good" crop seems to be dwindling more and more. I love them protecting and serving us, but something needs to be done with these cops that are making fools of their peers and not being punished. He clearly needs to be fired WITHOUT QUESTION!! I mean, he thought he was being flipped off. Freaking complex that he needs to fix.......

If that's the truth, that Trooper definitely needs to be canned. No doubt about it.

If we stopped and hassled every person who flipped us off or cussed at us when we drove by, we'd be filling up the jails with morons on a nightly basis. You can't pull someone over just for the single fact that they flipped you off. If you do that, the courts will have your you know what.

Read the stories and watch the videos. We don't hate them, but we're sick of the MORONS that are allowed to continually do stupidness like this without getting disciplined. He got paid leave. It also stated that he didn't press charges though he was the foul mouth bastard who couldn't control himself. Watch the videos first.......

Why do cops think they can curse and talk down to everyone, but as soon as someone talks back to them they get physical. Obviously they aren't all like this, but damn these types of videos are popping up all over the place lately. Fire this ****ing *******. Also what a classy man the COP decided to not press charges against the EMT. Seriously, shouldn't that be the other way around?

Re: Highway Patrol pulls over ambulance with patient in back

You need to look at this situation in a couple of parts.

                    1) The driver did not pull over. He broke the law, end of story. The ambulance has to follow all traffic laws unless it is an emergency, just like cops are supposed to do. No lights/siren, not an emergency. The cop can and should pull them over.

                    2) Something happened to cause the cops to try to arrest one of the EMTs. Tape doesn't show that because people blocked the dash cam and the cell phone was off looking at the ground or edited. Both were probably wrong in the way they acted.

                    3) When told he was under arrest, the EMT resisted and pushed the cop away that was cuffing him. The choke hold was used to keep him under control. The EMT was big and looked in shape. The cop didn't use excessive force or even restrain his breathing. When the EMT calmed down, the cop let go. Nothing wrong, they were following procedure, unless the choke hold has been banned.

You have to put aside the fact that it was an ambulance. Without its lights on, that is a normal car. Sure the cop could have acted better by not screaming, but otherwise it appears that he acted within the law. The cop probably needs some more training on how to stay calm, but come on, you can't fire the guy for enforcing the law.

I've looked past the fact that it was an ambulance. They didn't seem to be in any rush and the patient was obviously not in any serious condition. I'm just talking about how in all these videos that the cops just yell and curse at will but as soon as someone raises a voice at them they start to threaten everybody around them. I have a relative who is a cop, and I understand the stresses. However you can still conduct yourself better and quit acting like you rule the world because you have a badge and a gun. Treat humans with a little respect, even though you don't always get it.

I disagree - that wouldn't fly at my job. I deal with people all day long so if I disrespect, scream, curse, and criticize my customers over an issue (as the cop did) then I would given a pink slip at the end of the day, especially given the economic times.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Why Couldnt this cop have waited until the EMS got to the hospital to give him a ticket? Where is the harm in that?

Yes what he did was wrong, but to say the good cops are dwindling is completely ignorant. There is maybe a story like this once every week or two. So one bad stop with a cop having a bad day vs the hundreds of thousands of stops that help the public out.

I understand that Law Enforcement does a lot for us and I am in no way doubted that but that Man needs to be fired.

What if the lady in that ambulance was dying? He had to cause all of that? Could it have been worth a life. The trooper did not even check the back of the car until quite sometime.
