This video is of 14 year old Hanz, who just came home from the vet after having five teeth pulled. He was still pretty out of it and immediately stumbled to his food bowl after being let out of his crate. I started filming right after his initial trip to the food bowl where he decided to do a lap around the apartment and then went right back for more food. I guess that cat tranquilizer is some pretty powerful stuff!

And yes, that is my 360 and Rock Band 2 guitar and all those damn wires all over her floor because I am still not back in my own house yet. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, look here:

LOL, yeah cats can get pretty effed up on the meds they are given at the vets. I like how the other cat came up to check Hanz out.

If you have to give him pills for awhile (meds), here's how you do it with a cat.

Hold the cat on his back wrapped in a towel, so he won't scratch you, open his mouth, drop the pill in, hold his jaw shut, and then take your middle finger and tweak him right on the nose. It might take a few tweaks, depending on how hard you do it, but it causes the cat to swallow.

I've had a Manx that was very sick when we rescued him, later had a hernia operation and suffered from urinary tract blockage and giving him a pill was almost impossible until the vet taught me this. Works like a charm.

When we brought him home from an operation in his cage he looked like he was dead for the first 30 minutes and we were worried about him, then he did what your vid shows.

Of you can just wrap it up in some lunch meat or put it in there cat food.

If it's a capsule they'll spit it out. If they are sick they might not be eating. Go to a vet and watch how the adminster a pill to a cat.

Thanks for the advice, guys, but luckily the vet gave us liquid pain medication to give him which is easy as pie. I would imagine it would be rather difficult trying to get a cat to swallow a pill though.

You put it in their food bowl and don't let them eat for a few days then you let them eat. That will eat every thing in that bowl.

Just had a funny vision of you and your wife. You have the cat in a head lock and she is shoving the pill down his throat. And then you pop it once in the nose to make it sallow. But I have heard that before. We have been lucky the pills we had the cat took it with no problems.

Haha. When my cats get medicine, they usually just sleep a ton. I've never seen a cat get like that!

We got my sisters cat neutered for her a couple years ago, and he was just like that. It was hilarious. He plopped down and fell asleep in his food bowl.
