Just got home from Kannapolis
Man me and the family had a great time. Went to almost all the race sgops went Lowe's motor speedway and was taken for a couple of laps at around 100 MPH my cousin who lives up there and works in the race business used some of his connections and took care of us and even fed us some delecious food. I have a few photos on my myspace page which is linked to in my signature if you want to check them out. My profile is public so have a look.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Re: Just got home from Kannapolis
Pretty cool. I was just in Kannapolis yesterday en route to the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport!
Lowes' Motor Speedway is a pretty good venue for a Cup race. I've been there five times or so for a race (Most recently the Coca-Cola 600 a couple years ago). It's surprisingly accessible and you can encounter very little traffic if you know where to go. By parking about a half-mile north of the speedway on Highway 29 in a business that was charging $20 (I think), there was little traffic and it only took aroudn 10-15 minutes to make it to the speedway, compared to a lot more time if you park in the parking areas that the speedway offers.
Going to the Concord/Kannapolis/Mooresville area is a pretty fun thing for a NASCAR fan like yourself, I'd bet! The NASCAR Hall of Fame will be opening in Charlotte next year, which I will have to take the one-and-a-half hour trek south to visit. -

Re: Just got home from Kannapolis
Pssssshhh....slow poke. It would take me 10-15 from our neighborhood to get there! And yeah, I'll probably go there once. I'm not a NASCAR fan at all, even being born and raised in Charlotte. Ironically, my father in-law who is originally from Chicago and has lived most of his life in New Jersey is a HUGE NASCAR fan. He's already told me we're going when that place opens, lol.Comment
