I smoke my medication, take Aleve or Advil after awaking from a long night of heavy drinking, take allergy medicines during the beginning of summer or spring, Advil/Tylonol PM on nights where I am tossing and turning in bed, Hydro-codeine when prescribed by my doctors because of pain or when it is handed to me by a friend, and I will occasionaly take adderol during mid-terms or finals. So I guess I am not anti-drug.
I have no problem taking these pills because they help me in times of need. Before a long plane ride I will usually take a couple Advil PMs so that way I can sleep through the flight. I don't see a problem here. I don't abuse the medication, I only use it if needed. I rarely get sick, with the exception of catching pnemonia in January. Other than that I am usualy golden. If I abuse anything it would have to be a plant...but I see no harm in that. For pills, I follow the guidelines, do not mix them, and read the precautionary terms. All in all I would say that I take pills such as Tylonol or Advil maybe once every other month...and adderol or codeine maybe once every six months.
