Teaching Anger Management Today and....

It's going to be a new batch of kids starting the 12 week program. I'm kind of sick of using the same boring ice breakers. Anyone got any suggestions on something different and interesting I can do with the kids?

My wife uses this for her Spanish classes:

Have a big bowl of skittles/M&Ms/Both...

Tell the kids to have some candy, take as much as they want, but don't eat it yet.

Then depending on how many they grabbed, they have to stand up and tell something about themselves for each piece of candy they have in their hand.

Thats a good idea, but with M&Ms? I would spill my life story, then have to go out and do some interesting stuff just so I could cover half of what I took. Use some bigger candy

I appreciate it guys. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to see this until I had already begun the class. I had the kids play a game called "two truths and a lie". They would write down two things that were true and one that was a lie and the others had to guess which one was the lie. It went really well. I'm still open to ideas for future references however.

I think you should rile them up, call them names, etc. Then show everyone that this is what you're trying to avoid in this class. Then after 16 weeks do the same thing and see if they can handle it better
