It's amazing that had I paid for every song, I'd have spent over $1,100 just on music. That's ridiculous to me.

The last CD I bought was Ludacris' Word of Mouf in 2001, and that's only one of two I've ever bought (the other being Limp Bizkit's Chocolate Starfish).

Do most of you that don't spend anything on music use limewire or somthing like that?

I don't even remember the last time I downloaded music.

I either listen to the music I already have, or listen to an online radio station or something like pandora.

I wouldn't touch LimeWire with a 10 foot pole...some of my friends use it, but that program is loaded with viruses/spyware/trojans.

I used Napster back in '01, then moved to Kazaa in '02-'03...I haven't used a p2p software like that since because they're too risky.

As ghetto as this may sound, I usually don't even spend money on music. When I wanna listen to a song, I just grap my headphones, pull it up on youtube using my phone and enjoy. It may be time consuming, but it's free

LOL, I usually do the same thing, except I hop on my laptop to do it. Why buy music when Youtube has it all!

I used to use every p2p program I could find in college, Scour, Limewire, Bearshare, Kazaa, Morphius but my favorite was a site called Audiogalaxy.

Anyway, I didn't ever think **** would happen to me, but lo and behold it did. One day I got an email from the RIAA saying they knew I had illegally downloaded music and that if I didn't wipe all the music from my hard drive that they were going to prosecute me to fullest extent of the law. I laughed and though it was just a threat... until I scrolled down the email and there was a list of the exact file names of each and every song I had downloaded over the previous two years. It's pretty depressing watching 5,000 songs get deleted in a second.

All you would have to do to use p2p without the RIAA saying anything is to turn off sharing, with that being said I haven't used those in a long time since the songs aren't real and there are too many viruses.

I only buy CDs if I really, really like the band and feel like I should support them. Example will be when Muse's new album comes out, I will buy it. The rest I don't pay anything for.

this exactly what I do, unless it's one of my favorite bands, it's bit torrents for me....

Probably $20-$70 depending on the month, not including concerts. September is gonna be absurdly expensive for me

Maybe $15-30 a month. I buy all the albums from bands or artists I like. Even if I have the albums downloaded, I still go out to buy them. For those of you who just illegally download stuff, way too show your support guys.
