I don't get along well with a lot of dogs, anyways. A few years ago I was playing football and some dog randomly came up and bit me in the butt. That was not too cool (And it hurt!) and I ended up having to go to the hospital to check to make sure I didn't have rabies (I didn't). It sucked.

Dogs have that uncanny ability to find strange cat people and bite them, which is another reason why dogs are better than cats.

Except I didn't have a cat then.

I didn't like cats or dogs until a few years ago when I decided to get a cat after all my fish died of ick. I was weary at first, but it was a great decision in retrospect.

Most dogs are fine, though. I wouldn't want them as a pet, though. Cats are so much easier to take care of and have a lot less upkeep.

Geez. What is it with you cat haters? Did some cats bite you when you were little or something? Some people have dogs, some people have cats. You don't have to hate. Cats haven't done anything to you.

It's not so much cats, it's the people that like them.

GSW is dealing with a 100% thoroughbred cat person. We all have at some point in our lives.

Characteristics of a cat:
Controlling
Self-absorbed
Obsessively clean and orderly OR dangerously and unhealthily dirty

Cats are very often like their owners. Just not fun to be around and you wonder why they exist.

Guinea pigs are the best.

Actually dogs are, but I wouldn't trade our guinea pig for anything in the world right now. But when I grow up, I'm getting a dog.

Man, so much hate for cats in this thread. I have had both cats and dogs and to be perfectly honest they are both good pets. They both have advantages and disadvantages. Cats are more independent than dogs and require less attention. Take care of their litter box and that is about all they need. People complain about them being not as friendly than dogs but the cats we have been very friendly. Both cats and dogs can have some entertaining behavior as well that really makes you laugh.

As for the op, I would do what somebody else suggested and call animal control on the guy. Tell them the conditions and they will probally come out and tell the guy to take care of it. If he doesn't call again and they might take the cat away.

Whatever you do, do not kill the cat or get rid as some other posters suggested. I know this problem pisses you off but doing either of those things would low and in the case of the first one messed up. I honestly just have to shake the my head at the people who suggested to kill the cat, the guy is the one being the idiot not the cat. Take your frustrations out on him.

Dude would probably get another cat.

Ok, heres the update.

So basically I told this guy to go get some flea bombs and take his cat to go get a flea dip at petsmart.

So he said he would make an appoint ment (he lied)....

So last Sunday I got REALLY fed up and I said Look man, Look at my legs (my legs will probably be scarred for life because of this)

He was liek yea damn thats bad, ive been getting bit now to, but nowhere near that bad...

Long story short he got some flea bath stuff for his cat and three flea bombs and we bombed the house on Sunday.

IT definitely got rid of most of the fleas, but there are obviously still some in my room.(the house was infested)

So i just spray the carpet and vacum every night when i get home from work, i found one on my sock at work yesterday but im hopeful this situation clears itself up totally soon...

Whats funny is he wants me to continue to live with him past next year until March when hes getting married... I told him i would think about it...LOL

I can't believe your still living there. i would have stiffed him on rent and mysteriously moved out already!

I know how it feels to take care of someone else's pets that you live with, especially the flea part :/

Best thing you can do is take pictures of the mess, and post it on the internet trying to humiliate the dude.

Fleas in your bed? Dude.......

My GF has a cat, but we keep the thing clean and clean his littler box. What do we have? A badass Panther of a cat that is super healthy strong, and fun as hell to play with.

Its not the Cat....Its Dude, and to some extent my friend, you.

Here's an idea:

S**t in his cat's litter box then complain about the smell and adamantly deny doing it. If he believes you, that might help him get right of the cat.
