Re: Repetitive Dreams
Haven't had any recurring dreams in a while, but when I was a little kid I had a couple of dreams that I was being chased by a giant gorilla. Somehow it ended with the cops arresting the gorilla, but then I wanted to keep it as a pet and they gave it to me. Oddly, after that I never had a dream about it again.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Repetitive Dreams
My dreams are always around the same theme. I am in school or around a school or I am driving some where. But nevertheless it always involves me not having an assignment.
Kind of funny considering I graduated college 7 years ago, but the school always be my high school with my current co workers as my school mates LOL.Comment

Re: Repetitive Dreams
Yea. I never even knew OF REM sleep until the first time I noticed my wife's eyes moving inside her eyelids. I jumped back like WTF!

I asked her about it whenever it was she woke up, and she said that's called Random Eye Movement. Then I was like...Oh...so that's what the band REM stood for all these years?!?!

Guess so. That's the only explanation I seem to get.

I rarely dream, haven't really in a while. But when I do I usually have the same themed dream the next night, and then I won't have(or remember) another dream for a long time.Comment

Re: Repetitive Dreams
I dont know about that. She never dreams or she never remembers her dreams?
I NEVER remember my dreams. But that doesnt mean i dont have them. Now i dont know the science, but i am pretty sure everyone has to dream. What you dream about, and what you remember from it, are totally different from person to person. I thought it had something to do with your brain having to stay active even while the body rests.
That is my opinion, not fact of courseComment

Re: Repetitive Dreams
I think you're on the right track here. Sleep works in stages, the first three being made up of various forms of NREM, or non-rapid eye movement, sleep. The fourth stage is the aformentioned REM, where most dreams take place.I dont know about that. She never dreams or she never remembers her dreams?

However, I was under the impression that NREM bookended a night of sleep. That is because it's not often I awake very naturally and think back to the dream I had. In fact, my most vivid dream memories seem to occur when I am awakened before I was supposed to be. According to research, dreams increase in time by 5-10 minutes over the course of REM sleep. The longer you're in REM, the longer dream scenarios (and likely more bizarre) they will become.
I still believe that there is a peak to REM, before it winds back down a little before your natural awakening, as that would explain my vivid imagery that occurs when I wake before my body tells me to (alarm, startled, etc).
Finally, dreams are not fully understood by scientists. There was a lull in dream research until 50-60 years ago in fact, so it's all kind of young and new in this regard. Even with that, the scientific assumption is that we all experience REM sleep and dreams in a night, but our memories of them vary.Comment

Re: Repetitive Dreams
Everybody dreams, as bsb said some people just can't remember any of them. In fact scientists think that all mammals dream.

Re: Repetitive Dreams
When I was younger, I had nightmares about being chased by bees.
My parents said one night (this was a long time ago, I was in their bed) I got up and started running in place, screaming.Comment

Yeah, I think that dogs dream for sure. Because I've seen my dog bark, wimmper, wag his tail and move his feet like he's running while sleeping. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Repetitive Dreams
To see bees in your dream, symbolizes wealth, good luck, harmony, and bliss.Bees are also symbolic of hard work and industry as represented by the common phrase "busy as a bee." Alternatively, the dream could indicate all that is happening in your life or something that is buzzing with activity. Is there a lot going on in your life?
To dream that you are stung by a bee, indicates that you have been wronged. Maybe you have been hurt by some stinging remark. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Repetitive Dreams
MurderNobody will believe me but I always have this dream each month. I dream about this bird/man which the flesh is made out of Iron and his feathers are made out of blades. He carries 2 swords and he always kills my family and friends. He has never tried to kill me...He just seems to love to make me feel emotional pain. I can control any dream but that one...And his appearance never changes.
To dream that you have committed a murder, indicates that you are putting an end to an old habit and your former ways of thinking. This could also mean an end to an addiction. Alternatively, you may have some repressed aggression or rage at yourself or at others. Note also that dreams of murder occur frequently during periods of depression.
To dream that you witness a murder, indicates deep-seated anger towards somebody. Consider how the victim represents aspects of yourself that you want to destroy or eliminate.
To dream that you are murdered, suggests that some important and significant relationship has been severed and you are trying to disconnect yourself from your emotions. It also represents your unused talents.
Sword
To dream that you are wielding a sword, represents your ambition, competitive nature decisiveness and will power. You seek to hold a position of prestige, authority, and distinction. Alternatively, the sword can be seen as a phallic symbol and thus represent masculine power.
To see deformed or odd birds in your dream, indicates that you have a unique outlook and perspective on romance and love. The dream may also represent a lack of understanding in affairs of the heart.

Re: Repetitive Dreams
Sometimes I'll have the same themed dreams two nights in a row, and they're usually very similar to the night before.
When I was a kid I used to have the same dream all the time, I was at my grandma's house and I was in the car by myself and there were a bunch of zombie skeletons coming after me. I would end up rolling down the hill(which is weird because there is no hill at my grandmas) and then after that I can't remember what I would do. But I had that dream all the time when I was younger.Dream Moods is a free online guide to help you interpret the meanings to your dreams. To dream that you are a zombie, denotes that you are physically and/or emotionally detached from people and situations that are currently surrounding you. You are out of touch. Alternatively, it may indicate that you are feeling dead inside and are simply going through the motions of daily living.
To dream that you are attacked by zombies, indicates that you are feeling overwhelmed by forces beyond your control. You are under tremendous stress in your waking life.
To see a skeleton in your dream, represents something that is not fully developed. You may still in be the planning stages of some situation or project. Alternatively, a skeleton suggests that you need to get to the bottom of some matter. The dream may also be a metaphor for skeletons in your closet. Do you have something to hide?

Re: Repetitive Dreams
To dream that you are naked, denotes the fear of being found out and exposed about your activities and misjudgment. When I was younger I had this dream about 4-5 times a year.
I'm going to elementary school and my mom drops me off. I get to class and everyone is in there and all of a sudden everyone starts laughing. I look around and then look at myself and see that I'm naked.
I hated waking up, but afterwards I laughed, too.
To dream that you suddenly discover your nudity and are trying to cover up, signifies your vulnerability to a situation. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
