So, this is my dog Sawyer, which we got three years ago from a shelter, and he's a mix of lab and border collie.

We got him about three years ago after my dad's truck gotten broken into, so we went to the shelter in Bloomington and we are about to leave until we saw this guy (I wish I had a picture on me from when he was a pup) and he was such a good dog, we decided to get him.
I swear he has the mind of a human, or understands the English language because he has reactions like he understood what we said. From sighing at not getting food from us while we are eating, to giving us the death stare when we talk about him. His huffs are the best things, because it's like a "F-U" to us, which is hilarious.
Any strangers he sees, he wants to lick them to death and hug them, so not quite the big tough dog that he likes to show to bigger dogs, whereas he's scared of dogs much smaller than him. The only thing he goes after is squirrels and birds, with a kill tally of three I believe.
He was so smart when we got him; he was potty-trained (was only like three months old and had already bounced from two others houses) and he learns new things with pretty quick ease, which is the collie in him.
It was a rough first year we had him though, because he was shedding all his hair and he was 50% bald, so we were nervous for him, but he got better and hasn't happened since (though he sheds ALOT), but you can see where it happened on his belly and inner legs.

This is him hiding in our bathtub because he's scared of the loud cannon shots they shoot at the park (we live like 500 feet from) every hour on 4th of July. We got him a nervous jacket, which has really worked for the most part, except for 4th of July loud booms, but he's gotten better with them.
As noticed from the top picture, he's such a lazy dog, despite being a border collie / lab mix. He lays around the house all day just not really caring except for sleep, unless we go somewhere, which he wants to go everywhere. It's so bad, that he understands what "Go" means, and gets all excited and wagging his tail.
He's such a baby, but I love him so much. Every time I come home from college, he has to give me a giant hug when I sit down.
