I was 31 when I finally realized I could not go out drinking everyday. I started working in finance at 25 and the after work crowd would go to the bar from 5:30 PM to 2-3AM Monday through Friday and have a kegger or a pub crawl every other saturday. When I face planted in front of the job one morning, I knew it was time to cut back.
I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....

Re: When did you realize you couldn't do "that anymore"

This year I realized I can no longer graduate with honors in college, unless I stick around for another 48 units earning nothing but A's (No A-'s or less). Three courses with C's, 15 units total, ruined all that I worked hard for my first couple of years.

What a disappointing junior year for me. I've become the Anthony Thomas of college academics.

I also realized that I can no longer swing and miss in the batting cages, I have progressively gotten better and can no longer look foolish when I'm not trying to look foolish at the plate.

Another one, I realized that I can not attempt to pull over all-nighters in college. The last time I done it was during Fall of 2007 when I had to type up a speech for my Communications class. Ever since I've attempted to do that, I feel asleep!

A fourth one, I now realize I cannot eat a lot without suffering the consequences. It took nine months to destroy what I built up in less than a year through some tough exercising. My metabolism slowed down, I don't know how to tell me family that I got a little pudge on my belly and chin (not really noticeable). I can't believe I let myself go, even though it was only a five pound jump, there's a **** difference and I know it. Time to get back to my early years of college eating habits (yes, they were actually great).

I realized at my alma mater's (S.C. State) homecoming that I can't drink like that anymore. I got back home and saw myself tagged in all kinds of pictures on Facebook that I had no idea were even taken. This year, only going to have a very few....primarily because I'll be with my lady's family...and I just can't do it anymore.

I try to tell friends you gotta keep your eyes open for those pictures and people also need to stop updating everyone with where they are.

Football, my junior year of high school. Was just too small.

In high school I was a twig I was 5'5 and 120 max. I didnt start growing and gaining weight til after my senior year anyways, I loved playing football I played defensive back from 6th grade til 10th grade and loved it. But when I was a junior and going out for the Varsity team every one was so much bigger then me, so I decided instead of sitting on the bench I would get a job instead and save money for a car. Thats what i did but I did miss football.

I can't dunk like I used to 10 years ago when I was 20. Although I might still be able to on a good day. ( 6' white guy here)

My Junior Year in high school (2001-2002), i was playing basketball going for a dunk, my left knee gave completely out. I had a complete ACL tear and tore my patella tendon. I had immediate surgery that night. Four long pins were inserted my knee, but they took 2 out. Couldn't walk for 2 months, and rehab was a year. I lost my UTEP scholarship, didn't play my senior year. That was the hardest time in my life because I really love the game of basketball and it seemed like i lost so much.

I got into the best shape of my life, i had more bounce than before and my knee felt really strong. I had the opportunity to walk on at Maryland but I couldn't pass my physical to play at that level. Hoop Dreams was destroyed to say the least.

The best news there is that you were able to build yourself back up after a complete ACL tear (with more bounce even). It's a bummer that things didn't completely work out but there's something to be said for bouncing back from an injury like that. It gives me hope. I know I'm due for a knee injury at some point and I like the idea of knowing I might be able to bounce back from it at some point without losing all of my athleticism.

I was at a club last night and one of the girls I was with took a picture and somehow some guy got in it then started yelling about how we needed to delete the picture because he was in it. And when I was in high school two of my friends got in trouble with my coach cause they were drinking and somebody took pictures of them, put them up on myspace, then told a teacher. Some people have tried to be funny and try to put drinks in any pictures I'm in since I don't drink but I'm too quick for that ****.
