What media sources do you trust more? (online or offline)

First off, let me say this is NOT political but rather just a general question. I was listening to the talk radio station here this morning and they have a weekly panel called The Media and The Message. Anyways they were talking about how the media is handling the reporting of the Swine Flu vaccine and such. One major point that was brought up in regards to people not taking the media at their word about the need to take the vaccination is that those people tend to trust online sources rather then the traditional offline sources of news.

So I ask you guys when it comes to news, sports, editorial etc etc which source do you tend to believe in more? Which sources do you find most credible in terms of "okay I can take this information at face value" etc etc.

If this gets political then mods by all means lock it up.

I trust CNN more than anyone.

Fox news is a joke, they are more like a tabloid website then a credible news source.

I'm not sure if I really "trust" any of the new stations. I watch Fox the most, but I don't pretend that some of the hosts on there aren't biased. For sports, I check a lot of sites, but I probably look at ESPN the most.

You get more honest opinions online. Whether they're intellectually honest is another question, but sometimes conventional news outlets can be too sanitized.

Frankly, I don't trust any of the major networks. You don't get the straight dope from any of them if you ask me.

FWIW I don't trust any source 100% but I do agree with matt8204 in that you will more often then not get much more honest opinion without filter from the net. The thing is when you look at internet sources other then the big name websites it's often nothing more then opinion based on interpretation of traditional news sources or just straight up gossip.

IMO you do yourself a far greater service if you sample EVERY news service at your disposal.

They all just interested in getting you a headline to read. They dont care about the actual story.

BBC and Reuters, Both are pretty unbiased on american Politics.

As far as reporting the news, all the stations report the same thing, but its the opinions that differ. Fox News obviously slants Right, MSNBC to the left. Your never going to get an unbiased Opinion, that if for you to make.

kinda hard to trust any of them with all the infowars going on, but for sports it's espn all the way

BBC and Reuters, Both are pretty unbiased on american Politics.

I agree about BBC. Also, the London Telegraph (and many other foreign news sources) is pretty good as far as American politics go. They have no skin in the game, so to speak, and I feel like they usually report most honestly.

LOL, its not the I like CNN its that I hate them the least out any of the major news networks.
