If Walmart is selling them for $900, I don't want to see the normal price. $900 is still too much. If you want to spend money on the wake, food, etc, do that. That's a better way to allow people show respect.

Go to Home Depot, get some wood, go to Walmart, get some bedding, put me in there, and then nail a top on afterward. Maybe you could rent a casket for an hour or 2 for the wake. After it goes into the ground, no one is going to see it again.

Casket are any where around 2500 to 10000! It is what is it. Most people spend a good amount of money of a funeral.

No the who idea of, "SPending X amount of money" is a form of showing respect is what I am disagreeing with.

Whatever that amount is doesn't matter.

But for me to say, "If I spend this amount of money on this person means I am respecting them more" is just crazy to me.

I wouldn't TELL anyone that they are foolish but if I am a part of the burial process I damn well would reccomend a cheaper casket.

I'm with you. As the saying goes I'd rather get my flowers while I'm alive. If you didn't spend money on me while I'll I'm alive and can enjoy it, don't do it when I cant. Basic casket is more than enough.
