What do you get at Quiznos? there's no way you're getting a footlong at big as Subway's for 5 bucks there.

I like to switch it up at Subway. Here are some of my favorites though:

    1. Classic Italian BMT - Lettuce, Olives, Pickles, Mayo
    2. Meatball - Provolone Cheese, Oregano
    3. Pizza Sub (peperroni and marinara sauce) - Provolone Cheese, Banana Peppers, Oregano, Parmesan Cheese
    4. Subway Melt - Banana Peppers, Olives, American Cheese, Honey Mustard
    5. Buffalo Chicken - Lettuce, Banana Peppers, American Cheese

    Does anyone get Sheetz subs?

They aren't great, but they've got a couple footlongs that are $4 (without cheese... it's an extra $1 for the cheese). I usually get a Peperoni Sub with parmesan cheese (doesn't cost an extra $1 since it's just shredded parm), marinara sauce, and banana peppers.

      Does your Subway's serve breakfast?

If so, I suggest you try the Western Sub. I like it on white bread with American cheese, egg, ham, bacon, tomatoes and green pepper's.

It'll really get you get you going in the morning, if you know what I mean.

Usually a chicken-bacon-ranch, on hearty italian, with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoe and jalepenos.

Recently, I've been going with the Spicy Italian or Italian BMT on Hearty Italian, with lettuce, banana peppers, jalapenos and oil/vinegar.

Had that buffalo chicken foot-long today, but forgot to ask my sister to ask them to toast it so it was cold.

kind of off-topic but I was at the park with my son yesterday (he's 4) and I was pushing him in the swing and he just randomly starts yelling "I LOVE SUBWAY!" it was one of the funniest damn things he's ever done.

Subway was the bomb in HS and college, like others in here said I'd eat it multiple times each week. Italian BMT was pretty much all I ever got.

Now I realize it's disgusting (esp the always-stale bread and metallic-looking roast beef, when meat is shiny/reflective it's a pretty good sign you shouldn't eat it lol) and haven't eaten it in years. Quinzo's is awesome though, their classic club with honey mustard instead of mayo is amazing.

                      I've still never had Quiznos.

If I'm feeling better tomorrow, maybe I'll go find one close to me and try it.

                          Re: Best Subway sandwich!

I don't eat Subway very often, maybe 2-3 times a year in a pinch. When I do end up there though the only thing on the menu that suits my dietary needs is the Veggie Delite.

I always get a footlong Veggie Delite on wheat bread with extra pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, cucumber, banana peppers and a splash of oil and vinegar.

Years ago (when I still ate meat) I used to rotate between the turkey & ham sub on wheat and the meatball sub on white. But then again, the Italian sub at Quizno's and the steak and cheese sub at Penn Station were both better than anything at Subway. Haven't had any of those sandwiches in years though, obviously.

Footlong Subway Club (roast beef, ham, and turkey all on the same sub) on hearty italian with lettuce, pickles, mayo, and american cheese.

I agree with the guys earlier in the thread though, Quiznos is the best. Large oven roasted turkey, no tomato, 5 bucks. Can't beat it. Unless you get drinks, which are like 2 bucks a piece, or maybe it just feels like it. It just feels weird that my 5 dollar sub and a 20 oz. Diet Coke comes to like $7 something.

Actually that's a natural thing that results from the structure of the muscle, not any indication of quality. This big-*** scientific fact sheet thing explains it, but essentially the muscle fibers react with light and create a prism-like effect: http://www.beefresearch.org/CMDocs/B...ct%20Sheet.pdf

Another source from a meat market:

What gives sliced ham that iridescent sheen?

The shiny, greenish, rainbow like color on sliced ham is a sign of oxidation that occurs when the meat is exposed to the metal on a knife or slicer. The nitrate-modified iron content of the meat undergoes a chemical change that alters the hams pigmentation. This effect can also be seen in sliced beef, such as roast beef. It is not an indication of spoilage.

Just FYI... but yeah, I stay away from Subway's steak and beef just because I don't think it tastes very good and doesn't hold up well to sitting out all day (dries out). Plus I'm a picky roast beef person, it pretty much has to be really nice Angus beef that's still medium-rare... the totally brown roast beef does little for me.

I like the Subway Club the most of the their regular menu items, but I really liked the Buffalo Chicken sandwich as well (not sure if they still have this going now or not). I like the Italian herbs and cheese bread too.

Quiznos is really good too, I like them more but I hardly eat there, just not as convenient.
