I've actually been in an identical situation, happened a few years ago, I was young and it was my first relationship. I waited for 2 months though, and you know what happened? She took her ex-boyfriend back.

Flip all the negativity and take it as a good thing. Instead of worrying about her gettin it on with other guys, go out and start bangin some broads.

If in a month things are ok with the two of you, she never needs to know. If it doesn't, then you can bring up the other girls being better than her anyway.

Seriously though, if you've only been going at it for 6 months, and you already are having a break it's probably a good idea for you to forget about her man.

As someone that has made it through a "break" I can say that not all is lost but I would be very concerned. And the timing of a break right before Christmas and new years? 6 months is a little early for needing a break. Are y'all constantly together? Is she feeling smothered?

As long as this isn't the "it's okay to see other people" type breaks then y'all could be fine. The hardest thing is the not knowing. You have to go cold turkey and not contact her unless she contacts you.

Hang out with your friends and try to have a good time. Moping for a month is the absolute worst thing to do and one month will feel like one year.

Yep, like DD and Pared said, this is over. Look at the bright side...... this is like a gift from God with the timing of it all. A week away from Christmas and she wants a break? I know it sucks to hear but, she must really have it for some other dude.

So, she's basically throwing the "break" out there hoping that you will have the balls to break up with her. Therefore, making you the "bad guy".

My advice, is to do yourself favor and go find some strange.

IMO going on a "break" is just putting off ending the relationship. Breaks never work it just complicates things. Do both of you a favor and just end it and move on.

I don't think we're being cynical at all, speaking only for myself, I have seen this movie before and I have never witnessed a time where taking a "break" 6 months into a relationship has ever ended happily ever after. Just saying...

Without knowing any other details, it's still impossible to make that call. There could be any number of things going on in somebody's life where they need to take a step back and get themselves together before getting back to being a "couple"

Maybe in this case it truly is over, but to declare it D.O.A. is premature at best.
