Re: Don't ever order anything from BestBuy.com!!!!

Not the same story really, but this reminds me of when I ordered something from this one site that allows free shipping after making a purchase of $50 or more. So I ordered a bunch of Blu-rays that added up to $60 which were all in stock, but when it came to shipping my items, they said that they had to cancel one of my movies which was $12, because they ended up being out of stock. That meant $48 + tax which was at about, you guessed it, $60.

So I check their site once I get the e-mail waking up in the morning, and low and behold, it's back in stock. So I e-mail them asking if there's any way that they can throw me a bone and bundle it with my order, considering I never asked them to cancel it and could have potentially gotten it on backorder as part of the same purchase, but they didn't want to have any of that.

Re: Don't ever order anything from BestBuy.com!!!!

I finally did receive correspondence from Best Buy on Tuesday. They said that the delivery was now scheduled for Saturday the 26th...but they couldn't guarantee delivery! So I decided to call them up again and see if I could change my order to an in-store pickup. I am having the family over on Christmas day, so I would like to have my new TV, even if I wouldn't have the HD receiver yet. So I called on Tuesday night to try to get everything straightened out. I was on hold for 80 minutes, then I got hung up on without speaking to a rep. I immediately called back, told the operator my situation, and then got put on hold for another 45 minutes until I finally gave up and hung up.

After that I immediately emailed them to cancel my order, along with a rant to go with it (I kept it clean though; I know it's not the person's fault who will ultimately read it)

I did receive correspondance back about canceling my order, and they are giving me 750 Reward zone points as an apology, but I am still fed up. I will still shop at Best Buy stores because they often have the best selection, but I will never use BestBuy.com again.

In conclusion, I ended up going to Sears last night and getting a 50' Plasma TV. It was a pain in the butt to get it strapped into my buddies truck since you can't lie them down because of the glass, but it is worth it now that I have it in my possession.

Re: Don't ever order anything from BestBuy.com!!!!

Congrats, man. That sounds like some sort of story.

That's sort of what I hate about the business world, where everyone treats you like dirt, but we are just that little insignificant speck where no one really cares about our problems, and their hands are clean on the other end because there are so many of them.

Stupid example, but we have a campus grill at SDSU that makes breakfast burritos in two sizes, regular and "heavyweight". The heavyweight burrito costs over a dollar more, so why is it that half the time I get the damn thing, it comes out smaller than the regular breakfast burrito the dude behind me got? I want to be confrontational and throw it back in their face then and there, but I know there are consequences, like being the guy that threw the lightweight burrito back in their face. But it's a constant thing with them. However, they honestly just don't care... I know next time, it won't change a thing. They just stick to formula, and nothing goes back on them for being inconsiderate jerk-offs.

Normally I'd turn on my BB homer glasses and shun you for speaking badly about them, but that's just poor service, and any time I get that kind of treatment I start to throw fits where someone needs to understand where I'm coming from as well.

And it's kind of why I hate ordering online. I just don't trust some things when I know I can secure it in my hands the instant I purchase it. I much prefer doing retail whenever possible.

Re: Don't ever order anything from BestBuy.com!!!!

I hear where you are coming from. I don't usually get worked up about things either; I am usually the calmest person in every situation. I never get too high or too low.

The thing that really ticked me off about this situation is I have been a very loyal customer to best buy, and my reward zone card proves it. I have bought 2 TV's, a laptop, surround sound, tv stands, etc from them all in the past few years, and this is the first bad experience I have had. I told them about all of the purchases I made from them the first time I contacted them, and they didn't seem to care. That was the frustrating part.

From now on when I order online, I am sticking with ebay and Amazon. My gf's parents had problems ordering from Target.com on black Friday too....it's seems like the retail stores don't have the online thing figured out yet.
