    Tips for working out??

    So I have decided to get back into shape. It's been since probably 2005 that I last had intense workouts, that was 9th grade when I played football. 10-12 grade I did jogging and a lot of stretching since I played golf. 2 years later and I am as out of shape as they come. I'm not fat at all. Just out of shape.

    I'm not looking to become a body builder, just want to be able to run around and play basketball and stuff without being dead tired after a game. I'll worry about weights and stuff later on.

    Today is supposed to be day 1 if the rain and snow stays away. Friend is going to be my "trainer" as she is a workout freak. Plan today is get loose playing basketball, stretch, then jog a mile or two.

    Any tips or suggestions?

      P90X is also a good workout. Will test you in many different ways
      MLB: Texas Rangers
      Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
      NCAA: SMU, UTA
      NFL: Dallas Cowboys
      NHL: Dallas Stars
      NBA: Dallas Mavericks

        I recommend getting in shape a little bit before doing P90X. That **** is hard. I haven't been committed to it because I have weird hours. But, once I get my new certifications and get promoted I will be on a regular schedule and will hopefully get back to where I was when I was 19.

          Working out is only half the battle, you have to make sure and eat right or you'll be wasting your time.

                Too be honest that is a huge start. Soda is so bad for you.

                  I gave them up cold turkey last January, made it about 7 months and went back. Was easy, just stopped caring

                    Dropping soda is exactly what I did when I first wanted to start getting in shape. I dopped 25 lbs. the first month by just drinking water instead and playing basketball 3-4 times a week.

                    Good luck man, getting in shape again was the best decision I've ever made. It helps with so many more things than just being able to run around more.

                      I dropped it for the hydration factor not losing weight. I am like 6'2" 170 lol I actually feel pretty good right now. Hopefully I can move in the morning.

                        I've been steadily dropping. Just made sure to put in 10 mins of a workout before bed. I play soccer 3x a week, and do 7minute muscle (google it). Since November, from 200-190 now.

                        Starting to also pay attention to my vitamin intake - by actually taking them. I'm hooked on acai berry pills and omega-3 fish oil capsules. It's been good and I feel great.

                          Not the best advice to give on a video game forum lol. You only need to workout 60-90 mins a day to get back in shape so you will still have time for TV. And plus with p90x you need a tv.

                            Def tweaked my back walking out to mailbox :/ Made it back and went to lay down, iced and all that fun stuff finally up and walking around. I think I'll rething my exercise plan lol. Mom has these old lady back workouts I'll do first

                              I'm still going strong. Just been jogging a couple miles every other day. About to start some sprinting and other exercises to get me in better basketball shape. Luckily I have the hottest girl I know as my personal trainer. I would have quit already if I was on my own.
