Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
That law is for people who aren't going the speed limit and are blatantly slowing traffic down, they will not give a ticket to someone going the speed limit in the passing lane.
Someone going at least the speed limit has as much a right to use the passing lane to pass someone as anyone else does.
If I'm going 75 in a 60 mph zone, and someone flies up my *** in the left lane, I don't give a damn.Comment

And I hear you Watson. Have you spent much time on Airline Hwy or Siegen LN in Baron Rouge? It's a freaking nightmare M-F from 8am-8pm and all day Saturday and that's not even counting holiday's.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
Yeah, my current work is on Airline. However, it's a much better commute than I used to have at my old job, when I first moved here. It was Blue Bonnet to Siegen. My apartment was only 10 minutes away from work but, on some days it would take 35-45 mins just to get there.

Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
I've driven in Chicago as well when I lived there for only 6 months and I think Rhode Island/Mass/Connecticut is much worse then Chicago. I cant count how many times I've nearly been hit by an idiot who doesn't use a turn signal, doesn't understand who has the right away and just reckless driving.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
Here's the thing. If you are in the left lane and you are speeding, that doesn't give you the right to remain in the left lane. If someone is going faster than you are, freaking move over and let them pass. I hate passing people in the right lane, but it does give me the chance to give them the "stare" as I pass.
What is so difficult about driving in the right lane? If you are going 80, that doesn't mean someone might not be going 85 and want to pass you. It is OK to be passed, you are not a NASCAR driver.PSN: Koolie_G

I never understood this, if I have to pass someone in the right lane, I don't find it to be as big a deal as people make it out to be.Comment

Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
We ended up staying home NYE and going over the next day. It was about as much fun as one can expect from hanging out with the future in-laws. We did get to play some of the new Super Mario Bros though.
On another positive note, no one really pissed me off on our commute to and from their house. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
I LOVED driving in Germany. It was was so much easier than here, very organized. Left lane was ONLY for passing, so you'd pass a few car and get back over into the right lane. So, the slower traffic keeps right...Only thing was the autobahn was 2 lanes just about everywhere i went, so in really heavy traffic it gets backed up. But outside of rush hour, its a cruise. In America i have to weave through traffic to get anywhere, and i have to look for the best lanes to pass, i've been all over the country and i could go on all day about how Americans 'cant drive'.
Just we from San Diego to San Jose & back, only reason its was so fun, is because sometimes I like weaving through traffic, 'cept when it gets thick.

Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
What I hate is how people in Texas dont know how to drive in any weather conditions other than perfect.
Light Rain? Huge pile-up.
Heavy Rain? Really huge pile-up.
Fog? Huge pile-up.
Snow? Thankfully we dont get snow here.
It doesnt help that I-35 around downtown Austin is one of the most terribly designed highways ever.

Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
This is a touchy subject for me, and I suppose I can do nothing but respect people who are obeying the law.
But here is what I hate: if I'm trying to pass somebody and I'm on the left (two drivers, in this case), the car in the back has no right to close the door on me and kill my momentum as I'm blatantly going faster than him and will pass him much quicker than he will pass the other car. This is the absolute worst on I-5 in California that goes two lanes both ways and has a bunch of trucks. I may be going 75 (which I think is legal, I can't remember the speed limit on that freeway), and then a truck behind another truck decides to pull in the left lane to "pass" him, but he goes so damn slow that it takes forever to happen. Why not just wait for me, and then go through?
Another thing that I see, which almost contradicts what I just said, is I may be to the left of a car and on my way to pass him, when a speeder is coming to the right of me trying to weave between us. I say, "Uh uh," and speed up to close the door on him, then continue through so he can go behind me. This is my lane, I have the right to possess it, and you can take it after me.
I hate when drivers are completely oblivious to those around them. You and the OP are on point.

Re: The Right Lane is for SLOW Traffic
When I lived in Charlotte for a year, those people couldn't drive worth a damn.
Just as someone else said, even in perfect weather they were suspect drivers.Comment
