Life has been so miserable the past two months that I'm hoping to scrounge up enough money to buy MLB10. Obviously, I will only get it if I have everything thouroughly covered, but the annual release of The Show is always one of the highlights of my year. I owe thousand of dollars in lawyer fees, and here I am talking about buying The Show. Dang awesome baseball game messing with my priorities...I don't think I could handle the guilt knowing I'm one unexpected bill from a trip to the local food bank.

I forgot to add, I walked into my house last night to water pouring out of the ceiling. Yeah, I have a roof leak to deal with! When it rains, it pours. I'm sure potential buyers will be very impressed with the ruined living room ceiling. So, no, I won't be getting The Show.

Great to hear. Glad your children are with the stable parent and not the nut your soon to be ex wife seems to be.

Ditto. Just be there for your kids. Hopefully come out of this fine. Sure there will possibly be some resentment towards your ex but thats just natural. After a while if they seem to need more support dealing with it then seek some counselling together as a family. I wouldn't go right into the counselling though. Let them try and deal with it as a family first. That would teach them far better than automatically saying "you can't deal with this and so you're getting counselling"

Personally I'm tired of the "Pill and counselling Fix all" world we live in today.
Sure before it was available I'm sure many people could have benefited from counselling. I'm also just as sure many people who received counselling would have been just fine without it.

But what's $40 in the large scheme of things? Treat yourself. You deserve some distraction from what's been taking place.
It's not like you're buying a $2000 70" Plasma.
At the very least, it'll keep you company when your kids are away.

I GOT CUSTODY!!!

It is temporary, but my lawyer said the parent who gets temporary almost always retains custody once the divorce is final. She gave in immediately. The only thing she wanted to fight about was money. I made her pay me child support before she left the courthouse.

She willingly gave up custody of her two daughters for this man. Wow. What a mom. My lawyer said if she ever decides to try for custody, this will kill her in court. She gave them up without a fight. She now has to pay their health insurance and child support. The child support is 25% of her paycheck. HA! She's also stuck with a minivan which she has to make monthly payments on. She drives around in that gas guzzler by herself now. That makes me giggle.

She will get the girls every 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekend plus see them on Thursdays. She can't take them to her house if her lover is there, so he has to stay in a motel when my kids stay with her. The same goes for when his kids come over.

I definitely needed a good lawyer and mine is awesome.

This whole situation is still horrible, but at least some justice has been served. My teenage daughter is going to counseling, and the counselor emphasized to me that my wife has really done a terrible thing to my daughter's emotional development. For that alone, I despise my wife. She is truly a vile creature to turn her back on her children.

Thanks to all who have supported and prayed for my family. God is good and took care of us.

This was a post I didn't think I'd see so soon and it was great to be surprised with it when I read it just now. Echoing others, it's a bittersweet moment; you know your kids aren't going to be ripped away, but a person you have loved deeply for years has seemingly gone off the deep end.

Unfortunately, I think this could be the beginning of the end for her. It seems eerily similar to what happened to my father and my stepmother a few years ago. She snapped, and 6 months later she ended up committing suicide, in the process losing her children to their father and leaving my dad, myself, and my brothers out to dry as far as finances go.

It seems like things should be going in your favor as far as child support and custody goes when those things get officially settled. In the meantime, you may want to suggest to someone that she is probably in need of mental help. I don't know her and I despise the choices she has made recently that have impacted you and yours so greatly, but I don't wish a breakdown on anyone. It sounds like she's living in some dream world and someone needs to wake her up before it's too late...

I'm game. Just get me the info and my $5 is good. This is good news I just want all to remember no one wins in these situations. Yes he got custody and rightfully so but I hope the ending to this ends where the Divorce is respectable and the relationship with the childrens Mother at some point can start healing.

What she did is "WHACKED AS HELL" but she still is there Mother and that will never change and kids need both parents. They be divorced and still together raise the children.

At the end of the day no one wins simple as that. Keep doing what your doing Gary. Peace!!!

Damn. Gary is gettin' hooked up! Already 7 people offering him 5 bucks for him to get The Show. So, that's 35 bucks. Almost there. If I had a PayPal account, I'd chip in.

Anyway, just read most of this thread. This is an all around horrible situation your wife put you in Gary. At least you still have the most important thing, your daughters. Congrats on winning temporary custody of them. Good luck and best wishes to you and your girls.

That is great news. But Hank is right this will be tough on your girls. So make sure you show them major love. Maybe if you can go on a trip. It doesn't have to be expensive. Also if she is giving you child support wont that give you a little extra cash? I pray for you and your daughters bro. You are a great dad and you can be proud of that.
