Re: Wife left me for another man
Wow, thanks for asking, guys!
Life is much better now, but hard. I have primary custody of my girls; my ex pays child support. I sold the big house we had in the country and bought another in a much more convenient neighborhood. My VA loan came through wonderfully. I moved in without paying a dime.
I'm engaged to a woman who is very sweet. We pushed the date back indefinitely because it has become apparent that I'm not quite ready. I have some anger and pain left over from what my ex did. Speaking of her, she is as mean and crazy as ever...verbally attacked my fiance and absolutely hates me for some reason. She married the dude she ran off with...he can have her. My girls go to their house every other weekend, and I sure don't like that.
It's shallow, but it's a nice bonus that my fiance has, without a doubt, the hottest body I've ever seen outside of a Victoria's Secret catalog. It's kind of cool to be 43 and with a woman who looks better than any I dated in college.
Thanks again to everyone here who gave me advice and prayers. Honestly, it's still a struggle at times. 18 years of marriage and family is hard to put to rest. Mostly, I feel awful for my daughters. There was a stretch when they didn't see their mother but a few hours a month, and she continually puts herself and her new husband ahead of them.
Thanks again, guys! I will never trade or give up The Show '10. I am planning to have the cover framed and hung in my office as a reminder to help others and of the good in people.

Re: Wife left me for another man
Thanks for the update!
Great to hear you're making the best of it...
It is tough to "move on", no matter how much of a "trade up" this was / is / will be for you, so take your time...
Sounds like you have the right gal in your life, so that shouldn't be an issue / problem...
Kudos!Comment

Thanks for the update Gary. I'm Glad to hear everything is getting better with the living situation and that your ex has to pay child support. That's awesome. Life can certainly get sticky sometimes but, it's stories like yours... where someone basically has the life turned upside down and ends up coming out smelling like a rose... that makes all the struggles worth it. Definitely echo everyone's words. Glad that you found someone special to you that your daughters also like.
It will never be easy to move on. I doubt you ever will. 18 years is too long a part of your life to forget. The important thing is you keep moving forward no matter the setbacks.

Re: Wife left me for another man
Glad to hear everything is going good for you!
I am getting ready to go through a divorce myself, we and my wife just dont get along anymore at all. We have been miserable together for about the last year or so and have decided to go our seperate ways. I would be really simple but we have a 4 year old who is my world. She is the biggest daddy's girl and doesnt understand what is going on yet.
I am moving out to my own apartment at the beginning of May and we have agreed to joint custody.
We have been married for almost 6 years and have been together for almost 8. Like I said we just are not happy together and have only stayed together the last couple of years because of the kids, I also have a 11 year old and a 14 year step daughter. I really have no idea what lies ahead for me and being single again will be really weird. In an odd way I am kind of looking forward to it. Being alone and being able to do as I please sounds good for me right now. I truly believe at some point you have to make yourself happy.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Wife left me for another man
Just went through a divorce myself recently. It actually became final a week ago. It's always tough to move on, but sometimes it's for the best.My ex and I have two children together, and luckily we both agree that the children always come first. It's not about me or her but about our two children. People always say that things will get easier with time, but when your world is turned upside down, that's one of the last things that you believe can be true. But time does heal and things usually work themselves out.Comment
