    In Texas doing the defensive driving course will however remove the violation from your record if you haven't done the course within the past 12 months. Its better to do that then pay the ticket.

      You still have to pay the ticket even if you do defensive driving.

        You have to pay a fraction of it, I've never had to pay off a full ticket and do defensive driving.

          If you get a speeding ticket, the best way to handle it is to get a lawyer. A Lawyer can plea the ticket out to a non moving violation which will not show up on your MVR, which tracks your license.
