Does anyone have problems while flying?

Whenever I fly, I always have to endure the most excruciating pain ever! Of course, during ascension I have to deal with my ears popping and weird stuff going on with my nasal passages. When the plane reaches the highest altitude, I am totally fine. However, when it is time to descend, it feels like my head is about to burst. It is so bad that I have almost shed some tears behind this.

I leave for Vegas in the AM, but I am dreading this flight like none other. I plan on taking like 3 Benadryl Allergy pills so that I can be knocked out for the duration of the flight, but I would like to find a better alternative to help remedy this.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? If you have, can you PLEASE give me some advice or suggest some products that I can use to help me out a little. Thanks

I don't know how to help you with your issue, but to answer your question, I do as well. Forget the fact that I actually have an extremely violent peanut allergy and get the plane wiped down and have them not serve any peanuts (as well as having an announcement that there won't be any peanuts served), I had an issue where someone behind me directly goes against the announcement and asks her husband to pull peanuts out of his backpack. I have to intervene and tell them that the person is me and that it was incredibly rude. Later I fell asleep, and woke up nearly suffering an anaphylactic attack because the bitch thought she could sneak them out and eat them while I was sleeping without having any problems. She was wrong, and she paid the price for when we touched down.

I deal with this freaking peanut allergy every time that I'm on a flight, and only hope that some nut bad can go more than 70 minutes without a bag of peanuts. It's inhuman to be so cold.

Other than that, I don't have any real emotional problems nor does the ear popping issue happen too often. I feel pretty safe up there and just hope the guy up front knows how to land the thing.

Hate when people like you fly on plane, kidding, but you should wear a space suit so the rest of use can enjoy our peanuts.

There is a nasal spray that should help, but I can't remember the name of it. Just try to stay hydrated and don't have the vent on you the whole time.

Wow that sucks. I can't believe people tried to risk the health of someone else to eat a small bag of peanuts.

Anyways to the OP take the Benadryl you have, drink a good amount of water before the flight and chew gum on the plane. You should be ok.

Luckily for me I never have any issues on planes.

This is me to a T. I have a horrible time descending but it's only on quick descents. When landing in Seattle, we have to drop quickly once over the Rainier Mountains and it feels like my head is going to burst. I really don't know how the hell to stop it. I've tried sucking on candy, gum, drinking water, etc. but to no avail. My eardrums feel like they are literally about to explode.

            Any help would be appreciated.

Flying is awesome. Yes, sometimes my ears my pop a bit as the pressure on the plane changes, but it's not bad. And it's much safer than driving, so I don't worry about the safety aspect at all.

Plus, for me, flying is FREE, so that works pretty well, too!

                    LOL @ stewaat.

I don't mind flying, It's actually a calming experience to me. The only time I get uncomfortable is during heavy turbulence.

If I had to fly, and not get my peanuts, I'd probably go into a rage. So mental note, if I'm in CA at any point Blzer, don't fly.

I have to take 4mg of xanax to even board a plane. I feel that we are all going to die and this bird ain't gonna be able to keep us up here. There's nothing soothing about it for me.

I just sleep. Rock a couple Advil/Tylenol PM before I get on sometimes. Usually I'm asleep right after we take off. My only problems are with loud kids, dogs, or people who are allergic to peanuts.
