What Was Your First Pro Sport Event Experience?

My first game i went too was an Atlanta Falcons Game when I was 6 years old. I believe the Falcons were playing the Broncos? Can't remember, anyways the Falcons won and i was so excited. I begged to go to more games but i didn't go to many games. I went to 3 other Atlanta Falcons games before i moved out of my parents house. ( thats about a 13 year span.) Since moving out, I've gone too many football games with friends. The Best one I went to was the Titans Vs Ravens Divisional Round, last season. What were your first game? It can be NBA, NFL, MLB, MLS, etc.

Mine was in July 13, 2002, with the St. Louis Cardinals visiting the San Diego Padres. At that time, I didn't know who Albert Pujols was and he was playing in LF that game. The pitching matchup was Matt Morris vs. Brett Tomko and it was pitcher's duel that ended up going to extra-innings.

My family arrived early and we were able to catch some Cardinals BP. Nothing to spectacular, I'm not sure if anyone reached the seats near my section in LF.

The game was really going by quickly. I think it was in the middle of the third inning and a video played on the jumbo tron of some Star Wars thing with the Cardinals being the death star and the fighters being the Padres, with the death star exploding. I remember seeing Pujols looking at it, then scratching his head like "WTF?" I remember Eduardo Perez's home run in the seventh inning being an "oh ****" moment because it landed in the LCF seats, just a couple of sections to the left from where my family was sitting.

I was hoping to see Hoffman pitch, but the Padres offense was inept (and a moment where we thought Deivi Cruz was safe on a slide at home plate, but upon further review on watching the game at home, it was the first time I've ever seen someone's momentum stop as soon as his slid. He was a good five feet from home plate.

It's not really my most memorable experience though.

Braves/Dodgers in August of 1996. Lived in Fresno at the time, came down with my bro to catch the Friday and Sunday game. Interestingly enough, the game we DIDN'T attend went 16 innings.

Oddly enough and I bet this will raise a few eyebrows on this board (being a Yankees fan) my first game was at the old Fenway Park when I was 3, I don't remember too much, but it was The Royals vs the Bosox with Clemens on the mound for Boston and Saberhagen on the mound for the Royals. My dad told me about something called a Green Monster in LF, and being 3 It terrified me because I thought he was talking about a real monster LOL. Then he told me it was just a giant wall, which eased my mind LMAO. I still remember bits and pieces of it, I remember an older lady giving me a Ball with the Red Sox logo on it for free, I still have it in my droor, That's not the worst part, My dad bought me a Red Sox hat too, that I used to wear Lol was the Lord telling me to become a Red Sox fan? Nahhhhhh Weird to think about though lol.

I would probably guess that it was an Oakland A's game or a San Francisco Giants game. My guess would be the A's. But I went to a lot of games as a child. Thankfully the father of a friend of mine was able to get us access outside the locker rooms. Met a lot of guys...Frank Thomas and Dennis Eckersley took the cake though. And in my teens it was Nomar Garciapara and Mo Vaughn.

A Winston Cup race at Pocono when I was 4 or 5...I vaguely remember sitting on top of the camper in the infield, but that's about it.

That I can remember, a Busch race at Nazareth in 1999. As you can tell, my family were huge NASCAR fans.

Philadelphia Flyers hosting the New York Rangers. I was so stunned how real everything was, how big the players looked compared to TV. A great moment, one I won't forget.

Technically it was the Winnipeg Jets vs. Toronto Maple Leafs in the old Winnipeg arena, but it was really young, and I remember them passing around a petition to save the team, a lot of good that did, haha.

Highlight though is for sure going down to Minni and watching the Vikings vs. Chargers when AP broke those records last year, that was awesome. I'm not even a Vikings fan, it's just the closest NFL city to where I am. The energy in that dome is like no other sporting event I've been to.

For me it was my beloved Tigers vs Angels at the old Tiger Stadium in the summer of '92. There were a few of my cousins and my grandfather who was a diehard baseball fan. I was a teenager so it was pretty cool to hang out with my granddaddy.
