Re: What Was Your First Pro Sport Event Experience?
In June of 1999, I was 13 I believe. I was at the 3rd to last game at the Kingdome, in Seattle. It was the Mariners vs. Rangers. I was seriously disappointed that Griffey didn't play. On TV they said he was sick or injured or something, but in the stadium they had a message on the screen about it being his wife's birthday or some crap. Anyway, Rangers won 14 - 4, Pudge Rodriguez went yard twice, Juan Gonzalez went yard once too, I believe. It was a lot of fun, though. I lived in Montana, so there was never any professional sports nearby, but my stepdad was working over in Seattle at the time and took me and my little brother there. Very cool of him.Comment

Brewers/Rockies back when Miller Park first opened. The Rockies hit like a billion home runs. It was bad. God that Brewers team was terrible. Jeromy freaking Burnitz was our best player, for god's sakes.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

My mom and I took a bus trip to DC to see Jordan play the Bullets when I was a young boy. He dropped 47 points that game. A few years ago I read an article on why he dropped so many points.GamerTag - Swt James Jones

Re: What Was Your First Pro Sport Event Experience?
I was 15 went to a Suns game against the Kings. I grew up in Anchorage, AK so I never had the chance to be in a city with a pro sport team.
It was during a family reunion and whoever was organizing it totally messed it up. I remembered sitting by myself in nosebleeds. I'm sure the ticket was from a scalper. But I was extremely excited to finally see my favorite team live.Comment

Re: What Was Your First Pro Sport Event Experience?
I attended a Cubs game for the first (and last time) when I was about 6-7 years old. I don't remember what year it was, but Andre Dawson still played for them.
Went to my first Bulls game back in 2006. I never got to see Jordan live
Still waiting to attend my first Bears game.Comment

Re: What Was Your First Pro Sport Event Experience?
I really don't remember the game itslef but it would have been a NY Cosmos game.
To follow Brian's queue, I have to say the best sporting event I have ever been at had to be the 1994 World Cup. I went to see Italy vs. Norawy at Giants Stadium and Italy vs. Spain at Foxboro. They also talk about feeling the electricity in a building and I have to say I never felt anything like walking into those games. It was incredible.
Another game of note that i was at was the Devils vs. Bruins when Schonefeld (sp?) got tossed for teliing Koharski to have another donught. I was also at the game after with the alternate refs which was an intersting game.
One other one of note although not in a good way was the Giants vs. Chargers game when the fans were thowring snowballs and one of the coaches for the Chragers got hit on the sidelines.Comment

Re: What Was Your First Pro Sport Event Experience?
1993. Packers @ Chargers, we won some tickets from I think Sears in a raffle deal. Pre-game all us kids got to go onto the field and we all had our own cheerleader.
Not a Chargers fan but still a cool experience as a kid.
Oh and I just remembered this little nugget. There was the local news (can't remember the channel) and the reporter picked one of the kids to answer his question "Who's going to win", the kid was like a deer in headlights and I was eager to get on TV, so I said "I know, Chargers". My dad brings that up still, its a spot that will never wash off.Last edited by av7; 02-06-2010, 05:47 PM.Aaron
