Well, I have my laptop right here next to my TV. So it's quite easy for me to watch the game and then look over and post something. Although when it's a big game or what not I'll never post during the game. Such as today, I was glued to the TV from start to finish. Didn't feel like posting anything during the game. But usually when I'm just casually watching a game I'll stick around the forums and chat with people about the game. As others have said, it's not much different than going to a bar and talking to some stranger next to you.

If I'm watching an Ohio State or Bengals game the last thing I want to do is post online about it. I'm glued to the TV from start to finish. If it's any other game then I'll post or read threads.

I get other peoples point when it is the same as talking to friends in between plays and what not but to me it is a distraction when I'm watching my favorite teams play.

If i'm not at the the game for some reason, the only reason I post is because i'm mad at what's happening and need to walk away for a minute.

Well during football it's pretty darn easy since it's such a slow game with so many breaks. People have to do something during the 60+ minutes of non action and players just running around changing lines and huddling

I don't really understand the posting in a thread, it is too distracting to keep refreshing. But I'm all for being in a chat room with a bunch of fans. I wish OS could make live threads like they do with the OS Real Time thing. I've been to a couple message boards that do that. It's nice to chat during a game like that because you don't have to refresh.

I like to discuss things with people. Usually, I find myself alone, so I post on the site and discuss it with the smart people on here.

Unless I'm watching the Jaguars, and generally I'm not near a computer, as I go mooch off of someone who gets Sunday Ticket.

If I'm watching a game with some friends I wouldn't bother getting online to do anything really. Though if I'm by my self, or with my girlfriend I pop open the laptop/smartphone to post the occasional comment and see what other like minded people are thinking.

I have noticed that sometimes these threads can end up being pretty pointless. I popped my head into the NFC Championship thread on this site a few weeks ago, and it was basically just a few dozen people posting bits and pieces of play by play. There wasn't really much conversation going on. And if you try to post anything that would come close to starting a conversation, it's immediately buried by 25 straight posts of "What A Catch!!!", or something similar... lol.

Different reasons, when OSU games are on TV I usually head over to orangepower.com and we'll all post in the official game thread about what's happening in the game. It's kinda like yelling at the TV without disturbing anyone around you and others can comment on it. I've always enjoyed posting during games, that is unless I'm actually at the game myself.

Second, I used to IM back and forth with Psyblast back in the day during Michigan games because for one a lot of them weren't being broadcasted in my area and it was nice to know what was happening.

If I'm not watching it with anyone then why not post in a forum? You have a laptop and are sitting on a couch or laying in bed so you're not missing a thing. I generally don't do it for big games (probably because I'm always watching it with someone) but I don't see a problem if someone choses to.

Now if you sat there on your laptop while you had four people in your living room to watch the game with then I'd see a problem.

I love doing that. I don't have any 49ers fans around, my wife is somewhat interested, why not pull out my iphone and type on OS, Tweet etc...? I don't sit there and post over and over, but a key play, I'll comment on it. I even do it while I'm at the game.
