    Just like John Madden.

I think I can live with this IF and only if it means they structure whatever show he's on to be sorta like NFL Countdown/Primetime was like 15 years ago where Berman gives some insights but mostly leaves it up to the analysts to do their own thing.

Heck, I could see them doing an NFL Primetime like show during the season at the same time (7 PM) so he's even talking about games that are nearly done right at the top of the broadcast. I could see Rod Woodson being his Tom Jackson as well. It could work provided it's done right.

Oh and less of Rich Eisen is a blessing.

Personally I don't know why, with today's internet, anyone watches these pre-game shows with these talking heads. I think they're all a waste of time. I liked to saddle up about 2 minutes before kickoff and get right to it. As for news, who's hurt, fantasy, etc...like I said, that's what the internet is for.

You guys realize that these shows came about because people wanted to know this info back in the day when the NFL was getting more popular and we had no way of knowing it right? I just don't understand how anyone can sit through these pre-game shows with the corny jokes, mindless interviews and uncomfortable flirting and stuff the guys do with the gals on the set.

Who is Bill Simmons? I know Olbermann, but the other guy I never heard of.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Yeah I don't watch them either. I used to but basically all of them got annoying and they mostly talk about things that are already known to most of us. Plus the fake laughing and all that nonsense gets on my nerves.

Anyways, I'm on Team Simmons all the way. I can't stand Olbermann on SNF. Guy is a clown.

I'm the opposite. I know who Simmons is but not Olbermann (we don't get your SNF coverage here if that is where he's from).

I like Simmons generally and even own his latest book (pretty average imo) but that Tiger Ali comparison article was pretty lame, i couldn't finish it. I love the nba, Bill loves the nba so i'm going for him in this "e-fight".

All seems pretty petty and pointless to me.

I still watch the pregame stuff if I wake up early enough. I don't stick with one show though as I tend to flip through the channels. Sure we can find out all this stuff easily on the internet and such but it's nice to hear what the "experts" think from time to time.

I'm not that witness guy but it's my least favorite out of all the pregame shows. They're loud, obnoxious and it's too much like a frathouse at times.

Those could be his reasons too.
