    Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

    I know that a lot of us on here have lost weight and I thought I'd start a thread and ask everyone who has to post a before and after picture. This is the kind of stuff that really inspires me to try harder.

    Here is my before and after. On the left it's a pic from 2003 when I was at my heaviest, about 315-320 pounds. On the right is a picture I took today wearing the same outfit (note I no longer dress this way but just figured I'd do so for comparison purposes).



    I still need to lose about 40 more pounds to be at a normal weight according to my doctor. But I'm confident I'm going to be able to do it, although it's certainly been a lot of hard work.

    Looks like you had some dirt on your lip from the 03' photo...

      part of the problem is that you had your shirt on backwards...

      I lost 100 pounds in 2 years. i'll see if i can dig up any pictures, but i went from 305 to 205. i couldn't maintain that (never felt good) so i'm currently at 230 (i'm 6'3''). i had a health issue which required me to be on some medication that caused me to gain 20 pounds this winter, but i'll start to drop it soon.

      2 things that made me lose the weight: my wife and i have 4 kids, and i'd like to be around for them, and 2) i want to be able to do my work well. my wife is tiny (she's barely over 100 pounds) and jogs nearly every day (8 miles). she has NEVER made an issue of my weight but i personally felt it got to be an embarrassment... i've always been athletic, and even "carried my weight well" (whatever the hell that means - LOL!!) but i just started out sticking to a commitment of eating less and exercising more - and in 2 years i reached a comfortable level.

        haha, yeah i flipped the pic and forgot to change it. yes I did have a 'stache back then...someone said I looked like I should be in the SNL sketch "DA BEARS" in that before pic!

        as for me, i've been focusing on eating much less. i've gotten the healthy eating part and the exercise part down pat but i've stalled for a long time and my doctor said it was just because i need to simply eat less.

        i don't have any health issues regarding weight, i just hate being fat and i hate the way it looks on me. i don't hate it on others like i do myself, some people even look better if they are a little fat i think. i'd like to be able to just lose the weight and not cringe everytime i see a picture of myself...thinking "omg what a fat f***" lol, it really is embarrassing, no question

                Actually I think I now know about what Andy Reid would look like without a stash.....btw you're no where the size he is.

                      I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

                          Nice work Odogg. I would post my pics however, mine are the opposite of yours. Last year I gained about 40-50 pounds between February and December of last year. I went from around 180 to 230 and I'm only 5'10. I started trying to eat a little better and working out as my New Years Resolution and now I'm down to 215 but, I still have a long way to go.

                            Yeaaaa...The baseball pic was from May 08. Football from October. There was a fat period.

                              I've said this to you before, the same thing happened to me last year. 185 to 230. Now back to about 215-220 after this weekend. I gotta get my *** in gear.
