I tried to be cool with her because of my wife, but I've realized its not going to work. Just to awkward. I'm not going to demand that my wife stop talking to her. Instead I've let my wife know that me, and my ex are never going to be cool with each other. They can be friends, but we don't need to be.

An ex-girlfriend, who I'm assuming you've boned, who is best friends w/ your now wife, who you're currently boning, and then your ex-girlfriend is married and you hangout with her husband who now bones your ex-girlfriend and who which you've presumably boned as well.

It gives me a headache too. I have no problem with my ex's husband even though he does get on my nerves a little. I actually sympathize with the guy for marrying my ex girlfriend. He is a better man than me!

If it wasn't because of my wife I'd never talk to these people! BTW we're not into swinging, and don't have any plans to start!

No, no...what I am saying is you need to put your foot down and let your wife know you do not want to be around your ex. I'm not saying to tell your wife to not talk to her. You never do that. That is relationship suicide. She would hate you forever.

Your wife shouldn't give a **** if you are around, as long as she spends time with her best friend, your ex. She needs to realize this. Funk that, she HAS to realize this.

Movies and TV shows lie. I don't get the breaking up but still being friends. My ex wanted that and I tried to do it, but I couldn't so I cut her out of my life and haven't really thought about her much since. One day I woke up and realized that it wasn't fair to me to be friends with her. She would still get what she wanted (emotional support), but I wouldn't get what I wanted (****in'), so I told her it wasn't fair to me and told her it wasn't cool to talk anymore.

Same thing goes for getting back together after a breakup. A couple of the guys at work have done this recently and I don't get it. I tried it, but it didn't last long - that whole "back together" phase was awkward and had me kind of paranoid.

Be careful whatever you decide... Woman are crazy.. You put your foot down and tell your wife you won't hang with the ex and her husband, Your wife's brain is going to start spinning and she is going to assume you are starting to have feelings for the ex in which the reason you don't want to hang with them. ...Either way you are in a rough situation that I wouldn't want to be in.. I;m in agreement with many others.. That's just plain wierd..

Thanks guys for the advice! I told my wife this evening that I won't be hanging with my ex anymore. I told her that it doesn't feel right, her friend acts strange, and I really don't have fun when we hang out together. She isn't too happy right now about it, but she'll get over it. I told her nothing is going to change my mind because hanging out with my ex is NEVER going to be cool. You guessed it..my wife accused me of having feelings for my ex tonight which is total BS. I told her I don't like hanging with her for multiple reasons, but me having feelings for her wasn't one of them! Anyway, I put my foot down. I also told her she could call, or visit her friend anytime she wanted too, but there wasn't going to be anymore group meetings. Those are too awkward.

Something else I have failed to mention is that I felt like the last time I was around my ex she was trying to pick a fight with me by making some very contradictory statements that were totally unsupported by fact when I injected my thoughts on a couple of different topics on seperate occassions. I politely told her off, and set the record straight in front of my wife, and my ex's husband. They just sat there, and said nothing. I don't have to put up with her bitchyness, and her stupid bull****!

I have tried to be nice to my ex, and her husband, but it just isn't going to work. I'm done with them.

I can't believe your wife doesn't think this is just a LITTLE BIT strange. No way in Hades would I want my significant other's ex in OUR life that closely.

Update: My wife is acting cool this morning so everything is going to be alright. She knows that when I make up my mind I'm not going to change it. I booted my ex off of my facebook friends list last night which made my wife really ill. She said you've put me in a difficult spot that I'm going to have to explain. LOL Man's got to do what a man's got to do!
