    7.2 earthquake

Have no idea how my house held together. Been in California since the mid 70's and nothing like this. Violent back and forth shaking for about a minute.

Epicenter was just south of us across the border. My wife was in hysterics holding on to me as I got up and, check this, held onto my big LCD TV that was on the stand, lol.

Told my wife to run out of the house and it took me a few minutes to calm her down she was so shook up. Still feeling some small aftershocks.

I really haven't a clue how my house didn't take damages. Must be the old construction, I dunno.

Anybody else in Southern California feel it. We were almost right over it.

Glad everything is okay for you and I hope all other Californians managed the same luck.

I had to laugh at holding your TV though, that's probably what I would do.

I felt it and shame on me for posting about the earthquake on facebook during the earthquake instead of doing something smarter, like standing under a doorway (Darwin must be rolling in his grave because I wasn't the only one who did this).

It was pretty strong and sudden. It had the dogs shaking downstairs and my cat trying to look for the earthquake. I've been reading a bit on the signonsandiego forums and it seems like this may have been the strongest earthquake felt here in a while.

House has a little crack at the top of the garage where the eaves come together and either our water heater just overflowed, or we've got a leak, so turned the water off. Our neighbors pool water is in the street! I've saved gallons and gallons of water and am glad I have done so (along with a three month supply of MREs (meals ready to eat))

I can only be thankful, but man, this was something. Fingers crossed for no more of this. As far as grabbing the t.v., lol, it's a SONY! I still have to watch opening day in half an hour.

          Whew....counts blessings, as usual.

Lots of aftershocks. Ugh. Don't know where my cats are.

Wife was born and raised in Mexicali, BC, right on the border and many of the homes are adobe and brick (not earthquake proof), so I'm praying they are okay. Can't get in touch with the family because international calls are down right now.

Felt it very strongly here in San Diego. Oddly right before it struck my dog was going crazy and I couldn't figure out why...I believe she sensed something coming before it hit. My cars out front were rocking all over and the water in the fish aquarium was all over the place. Craziness.

My buddy from Escondido, about 40 miles north of you called and said his house shook for about a minute. He's about 160 miles from me. Honestly, this was like out of a movie and I don't want to go thru it again.

Thats weird how your dog started acting crazy moments before it happened.

Glad everyone is ok and the tv is ok.

Dogs have a sense for things like this to happen.

Glad you guys are ok and hopefully we'll get the rest of the California crew to chime in with similar results.

                      Keeping you guys in prayers.

I'm about 400 miles to the north and we haven't felt anything. But my bro in San Diego said it hit there pretty good. He has a lot of water damage from an aquarium that toppled. Other then that he's gtg.

Hopefully those aftershocks quit soon Jim so you guys can settle down a little bit.

Found our cats. I really feel bad for my wife as I've never seen her in panic like that. She completely broke down after the first one hit.

Yeah, with all my training and stuff I'm the calm one. But I'm starting to lose the adrenalin rush I got and realize that my nerves were rattled too. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some major damage in Mexicali.
