in San Fran for next week, any tips?

I've never been to San Francisco, going there Monday for training (Tues-Fri) and then I'm staying until my flight on Sunday so I can do some fun stuff.

I'm going to Alcatraz on a Saturday night tour (had to get tickets all ready, they sell out a week or so in advance), and may do a Giants game Tuesday night (only night they're playing when I'm there), but otherwise don't know that much about the city (never been there).

I'm staying downtown, so will be around a lot of fun stuff. I'll be looking up things on the web tomorrow, but thought OS might have some cool suggestions for things to check out.

Pier 39 has good seafood restaurants and nice little shops to buy some gifts for some people. Have fun bro.

Yeah, I'm not that far from there (just a quick trip on the BART I think) and definitely am gonna check out some fresh seafood!

Nice that training is finally in a fun city lol...If I couldn't do this one then the next class would be at the training center in Nashua, NH instead, nowhere near as fun lol

Best seafood on the west coast is in SF. Actually world class restaurants all over the place.

Down by Pier 39 is a great little spot called Lou's.. Very good seafood restaurant downstairs, and a really fun blues bar upstairs. Love that place.

I have to go to Nashua everyonce and a while. SF is a huge upgrade.

They have some good seafood places there. I loved crab sandwiches and go there about 3 times a year. They also have a Aquarium now at Pier 39. It is not best, but the thing you might enjoy is the academy of science. You can look it up and you should get tickets ahead of time.

I am not sure if it's still there, but it was a couple of months ago when I was there last, they had the King Tut exhibit in town.

If you're a baseball fan, catch a game while the Giants are in town. Great ball park experience.

Spend some time on the Piers where the Alcatraz boat leaves from. I did that and the Alcatraz tour while I was there on training. I didn't do much else because I wasn't staying in downtown, but that was fun.

It's been 12 years since I've been to SF, but I remember going to Sausalito. It's a nice place to visit.

That is where we spent our honeymoon.

The wine country(Sonoma and Napa) are great if you are into wine.

Is the Fog City Diner still around? That place was recommended to us.

I would love to go to SF some day. I've always wanted to live in either Northern Cali/Oregon/Washington State.
